My boyfriend's 5 year old loved this book story collection! We are having him practice reading it to us and helping with the words he has trouble with. Great illustrations and lots of sight words. Perfect for a kindergartener.

5 book Collection
There are 5 Early Readers books combined together in one book.I recently bought this book for my 6 year old son, and he loves it.Book 1: Flying High (step 1 reader)The birds are going crazy in Gotham. Batman figures out that the Penguin is up to no good. The Penguin has made a machine that is upsetting all the birds, hoping that the Super Friends will remain detracted while he robs the bank. Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, and Aquaman work together to save the day. Easy text, and great illustrations. My son needed very little help with reading this book.Book 2: Going Banana's (step 2 reader)Metropolis is having a big gem show. While setting up the gems, they notice that the big yellow diamond is missing. They can't start the show without it. The Super Friends follow clues to find the yellow diamond. Gorilla Grodd has it and is using it to make a gorilla army. Batman, Robin, Flash, Green Lantern, Superman, and Cyborg, must work together to catch Gorilla Grodd, his magical gorilla army, and find the yellow diamond and return it in time for the gym show. My son did need a little help with some of the words. Bright illustrations.Book 3 Brain Freeze (step 2 reader)A new computer is being set up in Metropolis that will control everything. It is called The Brain and it will run the trains, traffic lights, water supply, and the power. Superman is there to turn the Brain on. Mr. Freeze decides the town needs a Brain Freeze and fire his ice cannon which freezes the new computer solid. Everything in the city stops working. Superman, Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern work together to help get the city back in control. They then work together to capture Mr. Freeze and unfreeze the Brain. My son needed very little help with reading. Have nice illustration that go along with the storyline.Book 4: T. Rex Trouble (step 2 reader)Dinosaur fossils are on parade and Lex Luthor sprays them with super foam, which brings them to life. Flash sees what is going on and calls on his Super Friends for help. While the dinosaurs are scaring the towns people, Lex takes their money and valuables. Batman, Green Lantern, and Superman arrive to help the Flash. The Super Friends capture Lex and then build a home for the dinosaurs to live. My son needed some help with a few of the words. Colorful illustrations.Book 5: Crime Wave (step 2 reader)Everyone is lining up to see the world's biggest pearl. Aquaman gets to cut the ribbon to open the show. Superman, Batman, and the people cheer. Water starts to flood in and The Super Friends help the people exit. The Super Friends are then attacked by Black Manta, a shark, an octopus, and couple of eels. He is after the pearl. Aquaman speaks with the sea creatures. He explains to them that stealing is wrong. The sea creatures help The Super Friends capture Black Manta and return the pearl. My son needed some help with reading this story. Nice illustrations to go along with the story.Even though I found a few of the storylines a little corny, they kept my sons attention and he loves reading them. He is a huge fan of DC Superheros. If it makes him enjoy reading time, it deserves 5 stars.

Great for New Readers
I bought this as a gift for a four year old who is just beginning to read. The stories are interesting and increase in difficulty to encourage him to grow as a reader. I love that all the books are bound in one volume that is more substantial than the shorter books on their own.

Short superhero stories
My 3 1/2 year old has a recent love for super heroes so we've checked out most of these stories at the library before. They are short, not very violent, and perfect for a quick bedtime story. They are even short enough to read a couple stories before bed. Great to have multiple super hero stories in one place.

Good Collection for Young DC fans!!
I love the step into reading DC Super Friends books! They are short enough to keep my sons attention and have brightly colored pictures. I myself love Batman, so I am more than happy to read these stories to him over and over again when he asks. The only complaint I've ever had about these books is why don't they collect them? When a little boy loves a book and reads it a lot, the single books are so flimsy they don't last long.My complaints are now down to none.:)This collects 5 stories: Flying High, Going Bananas, Brain Freeze, T-Rex Trouble and Crime Wave. Not only is it nice to have all the stories in one location but it is better than paying 3.99 a piece for each single book. These are great for any little DC fan :)

We loved the stories
We loved the stories, we had been previously buying the single ones and my 5 year old loves them, since getting this collection, my son is now actually reading them himself. They are great starter books for any superhero fan! 5 awesome stories included in this one, one we already had but I thought it was still worth it.

Good book but issues with the binding
Stories are simple and probably good for an early reader. The text is large which helps for reading in low light before bedtime. My son loves reading them. My only complaint is that after only a few weeks of pretty gentle use (though reading every night), pages in the back of the book have started falling out of the binding. Some other reviewers have mentioned the same problem. I bought 2 other similar books and haven't (knock on wood) had the issue yet with them so it might be luck of the draw.
