Equisite Workmanship, Sparks Joy!
With Knipex, it's tough to go wrong. A premium price for a premium product, but worth it. I was looking at lots of other brands. None had the narrow really long bills that I really wanted, not had the quality, or the reviews to back them up. I spent $35 instead of $5 or $10, but these go in my primary tool tote, where I have a few other Knipex tools, which I will proudly use until the day I day. I will get joy every time I use these. As Marie Kando states, look for those things in life that "spark joy". These do that.Note that the tips touch first with just a slight bit of light visible along the shanks so that when you squeeze the handle they go flat with the tension at the tip. Perfection. Also note they don't have any spring mechanism. They move freely, yet without play. A spring could be nice when using them, but they they don't store right as they splay out, unless you add a locking mechanism, which adds complexity and has to be released every time one uses the tool. This way they store in a tool pouch, yet work freely enough where one won't miss the spring, and no locking mechanism to fumble with. The handles are nicely shaped so that they can be opened of closed with one hand. And the coating is not that absurdly thick crud that you see on many tools that will break down, looks like cr*p, and gets in the way when storing the tool.Knipex, highly recommended!

Still grabs light objects when holding only one handle
Enough friction in the joint to stay open by itself against gravity to hold screws or nuts or washers while holding only one handle. This allows for precarious positioning for placement. The acceptable flip-side to this is that it requires more force to merely open and close the tool. You may or may not like just how much force is required to open and close the tool. It doesn’t just shake open, let alone fall open. Just be aware of this feature before purchase. The pliar shafts are slightly bowed and will flex, so you won’t get very far using this as a quick wrench to tighten or loosen nuts or things of that size. It’s not very grabby, either, but I like the smooth, flat inner surface so it won’t mar soft electrical component leads or components I’m carrying into position. I would never have guessed the usefulness in having a tool stay closed on an object, grabbing it properly with just enough force, while holding just one handle. A hidden feature?

Quality tool
This is the first Knipex tool that I have owned. The have a great reputation and it seems well deserved.I did make a slight improvement though, I do jewelry and other metal work with silver, copper and pewter. I opened the pliers up and used a sanding block with 400 grit paper to smooth up the faces of the jaws of the pliers. They were rougher than I prefer for the work that I do. They aren’t advertised as being jewelers pliers, if they were they would be much smoother faces but a little bit of work and they will do just fine.Knipex products aren’t inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Cheap tools are not worth the price. A quality tool helps produce quality work.

Great pliers, made better with a bit of DIY
These needle nose pliers are probably the best needle nose I've seen, with a very powerful and precise grip and stayes open in whatever position you leave it. The only complaint I have is the gripping part has no groves or grooves, it's completely smooth. This makes grabbing and tugging on things (my main use for needle nose) a slippery task. This was easily fixed by grinding in some groves with a file.

Excellent Small Needle nose for Wire Bending
Make sure you are purchasing this product for the intended purpose. This is not a gripping pliers. It has smooth jaws and a curved upper profile for smoothly bending small diameter wire. The quality, as always with Knipex tools, is superb. The jaws are perfectly aligned and finished. Excellent choice.
