MARENA SFBHS Women’s Girdle with High Back, Short-Length - Post-surgical Shapewear Support

I recently had a tummy tuck and ordered this for recovery. I am 5'3" 165 and ordered this in a XL because I needed room for the abdominal board and some padding. This is the short version, and since I'm short I thought it would work. However, the straps really rub in and after half a day it felt like a sunburn. My husband had a genius idea of cutting a shirt and putting it under and has worked perfectly. The opening at the crotch works really well, even though I was concerned at first, there has been no issues so far ( underwear for discretion:)). The compression is nice, not too tight at all and the fabric has more give because it is a step one recovery and not a daily worn faja for shaping. I normally wear a size medium clothes for reference. Legs are not too tight and are like spandex shorts. Overall it is nice, but even if you are short, I would consider the taller version because of the strap rubbing issue. If not, a shirt under works fine.

Great quality. Took 4-5 days to receive but that was clear at order. I bought the same size as I got from the surgeon so I didn’t have to figure out size. It fits snug but not uncomfortable. I’m 6’0” and 180 lbs.

I wanted to love this product. First, it arrived with the seal on top broken, which made me suspect that it had been tried on. Since I purchased this as a medical compression garment for post-surgery use, this made me uncomfortable. I did try it on, and the material was amazing—so soft, with the perfect amount of compression. Unfortunately, if you are taller than 5'6" (I'm 5'8"), this will be too short for you, and the straps will dig into your shoulders, causing discomfort over time. If you're on the shorter side, you'll likely love this garment. Unfortunately, I will have to return it.Update: I ordered a Large (previously a Medium) hoping that the straps would be longer and the new straps would fit better. Unfortunately, there is no difference, and the straps are still too short. I'm so disappointed because this is by far the best quality and softest garment with perfect compression, but the straps literally cut off circulation to my arms and cause pain.

After a tummy tuck, my doc provided a compression garment of his choice (Veronique brand). While it was high quality, he ordered it two sizes to small and wearing it was excruciating, so after a week I decided to replace it. The brand he used was way too expensive ($250) for an item I would only wear for a few weeks so I compromised with this and it worked well. It's not quite as compressive as the too-small Veronique -- if you need SUPER strong compression (or your doc orders it for you), go down a size. (In retrospect, I'd have done that myself.) But for longer term wear, go by your actual post-surgery waist size or even a size down. There are three rows of hook and eye closure so as your swelling goes down you can snug it up.One feature that made this one stand out over other lower-priced fajas and compression body suits was the open crotch was wide enough to actually be usable for toileting and not, um, make a mess or need to get my hands all in there to pull open the gusset flaps. When you have to wear something 24x7 for a month, this makes a huge difference!!I also appreciate that the thighs aren't too tight so they don't make them bulge, nor do they roll up.On the down side, I found the straps useless and I wish they were easily removable. They do allow you to unfasten them, but then you have straps hanging down your back. Cutting them off wasn't appropriate because of the shape of the attachment flaps. Oh well, it was only a month.

This product is hit or miss. I’ve bought 5 within the past month. 2 out of the 5 had the prongs broken within 24 hours of receiving the product. When the product doesn’t arrive defective it’s amazing but when it does it’s a huge waste of money, especially because there are no returns or exchanges.
