The Magic and Mystery of Trees (The Magic and Mystery of the Natural World)

Made to last!
This is a beautifully made hardcover book (the hardcover is worth getting), with educational and appealing illustrations, and tons of information for all ages. It's 1 cm thick and 80 pages, but the info is spread out into many different small topics with beautiful pictures. An interested kid could sit and look at it for a long time. This is even interesting enough to be an adult coffee table book. I am saving it to give to a nephew when he is maybe 7 or 8 years old. Younger kids could still enjoy paging through it for the pictures, or read a few pages at a time, depending on what in nature is interesting to them. There's no narrative or story (it's kind of like a junior pictorial encyclopedia), so you could open the book up to any page at any given time and get enjoyment out of it. I imagine an elementary school teacher could even assign a different page to each small group for creative projects or for peer teaching. The type of kids who love to learn about the world around them and/or love knowing a lot of facts about nature/animals will love this book.

Reading age: EVERYONE!
I LOVE how jam-packed with information this book is - yet it's easy to read with beautiful illustratrations - for adults as well as young readers.I bought this book for myself because I really enjoyed another book that described how trees communicate, feel and live socially with the entire forest...but was quite high level and required strong concentration.I really enjoy the thoroughness and ease of reading as well as the illustrations. So did my 5 & 7-year old grandsons who ended up taking it home! So I ordered another book for myself, my brother and my nephew.I highly recommend this book for EVERYONE!

Trees Work!
🌳🍂🌲🍁I care so deeply about TREES I recently spent an entire day at an Urban Tree Summit. Climate change will present serious challenges to our trees and conversely TREES can help us mitigate some of the impact of climate change. This is the best children’s book I have found to introduce young children to how trees “work” and the overall role, beyond sheer natural beauty, they play. The illustrations are simply glorious and the explanations clear and concise. I have bought five copies- two for libraries and three for grandma friends to read together with their grandkids and use as a basis for an outside shared Nature adventure.

Lovely illustrations and lots of information...
I love the vibrant illustrations in this lovely book. This is great for a broad age range. There is a ton of information for more advanced readers as well as smaller tidbits with amazing visuals for emerging readers. This would be a great book for families who love nature, kids who love science, or even a great teacher gift.

So cute
This book is so cute, informative, and accurate. My boyfriend is an arborist and loved flipping through it - I think our kids will love it someday too! The illustrations and information are both captivating!

Enjoyed by parents and their children as bedtime book.
I bought this for my 6 year old grandson and my 7 year old great niece to celebrate Earth Day. They loved it and were amazed by the information and how it was presented. It’s a beautiful book color wise. I would have give it 5 stars, but my son said the print is a bit difficult to read on the bright colors at night.I did a lot of research before I chose this book and it was well with it!

Love this beautiful book
I am a book lover and I hope that at least one of my four children will love books as much as I do. Thus, I am always in search of books for kids that educate and captivate leaving long lasting memories. This is one of those books for both my little boys and I. Not only are the illistrations bight beautiful and educational. But, the information is also clear consise and informative. We normally read small snippets and then discuss and ask questions. That way Iʻm not overwhelming them and there is always something to look forward to. I would recommend this book over and over again and look forward to purchasing the others in the series.
