Great Product
I was looking for something specifically to prevent scale buildup and increase the lifespan of my brand new boiler/water heater. I did a lot of research on these type of electric "de-scalers" and I was just about ready to purchase a much more expensive unit until I decided to dig a little deeper and found this brand on Amazon. This company actually had scientific research done showing that the product works, and they include the study in the manual. After a few days I noticed that the water seemed much softer on my skin. I also use a shower head filter, and the water coming out of the faucets now feels very similar to the water coming out of the shower head with the filter. That was immediately how I knew that this product was working. As others have said all of our soap/shampoo/conditioner definitely creates a lot more suds. I am not sure why this is, but another sign that the product is doing something. If anything changed I will update this review. My only complaint which is no fault of the product is that it can be a pain unravelling the wire and wrapping it around the pipe. You have to measure the thickness of the pipe and follow their chart as to how many inches of wire you put and then you double wrap the pipe. The wire kept getting tangled up on me and was extremely frustrating. The water line right off of my water meter runs vertical so I'm sure that made it a little more difficult. I am now recommending this product to all of my family and friends. I would not hesitate to purchase this again.

It doesn't "soften", but seems to do what I expected it should.
We have fairly hard water. Readings with a TDS meter would range anywhere from 300 to 500ppm. We weren't looking for a water softener that we had to feed with salt, but wanted to do something to hopefully reduce buildup in water appliances and pipes. Decided to give this electronic conditioner a try.Installation wasn't difficult, just a bit tedious wrapping the wire around the pipe the recommended number of times. The remainder of the hookup was easy. After over two months of it in operation, here is what I can tell you. As expected, the TDS readings didn't really change (and since nothing is removed or added to the water, this was expected). The taste of the water also hasn't really changed. The white powdery-looking hard water deposits still occur on shower heads and our refrigerator water dispenser, but they do seem easier to clean up - often only requiring a sponge and water or simple cleaner instead of soaking in vinegar for long periods. Spots still occur on dishes in the dishwasher if no rinse aid is used, but they can typically be removed with a damp rag.The biggest difference seems to be in the amount of soap I use when taking a shower. Almost immediately after installation I noticed that I could use about half the amount of shampoo to wash my hair and soap just feels more "soapy". We are also using less detergent in the dishwasher with no reduction in cleanliness. These are all relatively subjective observations, but we feel that it is doing something positive and is in line with our expectations. Overall we are happy with the purchase.

It works well
I purchased this on a whim because I didn't want to buy a $5000 whole house water softener system. I also didn't want to buy 50 pound bags of salt and deal with that situation. So I decided to give this a try.My house is large and in Tampa FL - the water was horrible -- dishwasher was horrible - everything came out cloudy- every day i would squeegee the shower because it would be left with white stainsI hooked this thing up and rolled the dice - well it works and works really well. Take a look at the pictures of the two glasses. AND THIS IS AFTER TWO WEEKS!Some things to consider -- My house is 18 months old so the buildup of white stuff could not be that bad- The volume of water is about 10K gallons a month- Pipes are all PVCHope this helps you - I rarely if ever write a review but I feel it's important to share
