I love these picks
I’m not a super experienced player. I’ve been buying a lot of different types of picks. I’ve settled in on these. They felt a bit tight at first but I got used to that. They stay in place which is one less thing to think about as I learn to play.

Excellent quality, my 3rd order.
I've order a few sets of Jim Dunlap brand picks. With my fat fingers, sometimes even the large picks don't fit, but these can be easily resized by dropping them in a cup of hot water (not scalding) and form shaped to your thumb, then cool water run over them while you are wearing it. Important note: Do not put the pick in a cup of water and then into the microwave. The logo is foil and will spark and burn if microwaved, heat the water separately and then drop the pick into. Make sure neither is too hot to cause burns before trying to resize to fit your own thumb. On that note, I've worn these out from many hours of playing, but so far I've not broken a single one. I would guess if you try to force a fit on your own fat thumb without warming them it could be done, but they usually will just cut off the blood supply if too tight.

Great overall product. Be careful trying to widen them to fit your thumb
It’s plastic so expectedly if you mess with the width too much or too fast they will snap on you. Slight curvature of the pick can also make the upswing strum a bit tricky to get down (perhaps better to just stick to fingers here)Luckily this company gives you several picks to work with in case you break one. Overall it’s a staggering improvement in sensation for a low cost

Support an American company. Great Thumbpicks!
I purchased these for my oldest son. He plays multiple instruments and had talked about wanting some thumbpicks for his acoustic guitar. I'd much rather purchase items to enhance his musical abilities than video games any day!First, I had no idea that Dunlop was from Benicia. I lived in Benicia, California for a large portion of my life and when I turned the package over and saw that I was happy and shocked! Go Benicia! California's first state capital before anyone knew about Sacramento! My son says that these thumbpicks are very comfortable. I tried to get him to let me film a video filming him playing but as usual he is shy.He loves them.Thank you Dunlop.I paid full price for these Dunlop Thumbpicks. I wasn't offered any discount or promise of future discounts. I'm offering this review for informational purposes only. Thank you!

My Go-To Thumb Picks
These are my go-to thumb picks. I’ve tried a lot of other ones and these consistently sound the best to me. The price is right. They seem to last forever too.Right out of the package, they are a little tight for my fairly large thumb, but dipping them in very hot water for a few seconds will allow them to spring open slightly and loosen up.

Tight, Long, Flat
Flat bottom. Wish it grooved into your thumb better. The pick itself is long, and gets lost in the strings easily. It's not meant to be worn all the way up to your joint. People cut off circulation because they slide it on too far. I've got average fingers but it has to sit at the end, covering the thumbnail. I'll give them props for selling it to me for less than three dollars.

I didn't think there was much difference in picks.
I'm a beginner banjo player and have been trying different thumb and finger picks. I have used and broke two Nationals and also have some ChromaCast that I really liked because of the shape of the point...they seemed to glide of of the strings very easily. But when I tried the Dunlops they had a much brighter tone to them. I bought large but could probably use the extra large. When I need to buy more thumb picks I'll be getting more Dunlops.

Pretty Good Thumbpicks
These picks, size large, are a little loose on my thumb. I think that the size Large picks extend a little far, making it hard to pick fast, so I had to shave them down quite a bit. The medium sized thumbpicks of this same style work better for me, even though they are a little tight on my thumb. At least with the Medium sized the picks do not need to be altered.I have also snapped a couple of these, albeit not during regular use, I would still say they are not particularly durable. These picks do the job, but I am still searching for a higher quality thumb pick.
