Package said I could use staples, so I did. So far it was easy to install, fit great and helps seal better.

living in an apt complex where you have no say over the leaks and designs of the doorways, this is perfect! I have had an increase of bugs sneaking through the cracks, and I also know that any leak means higher electric bills. This past month we had some new mulch put down and there were water bugs EVERYWHERE! I would find 4-5 a night. I searched high and low at all stores I thought would have this. Walmart, ACE Hardware, Lowes, Home Depot, etc but no one had the felt. They all had the foam stuff which is way more expensive and doesn't hold up. So I understand, why sell a product that doesn't break down fast and won't need repurchased for quite some time.I had one of those, Thank Goodness for Amazon, moments when I couldn't find it anywhere locally. I am a loyal amazon shopper, but wanted to check stores b/c I wanted the problem fixed ASAP. Well, Amazon offered this as an add-on product, and I had to purchase a couple other things....so it worked out perfect.I received it and immediately put it up! I pull it so it's tight against the frame and only use about 4 little nails to keep it in place. It takes no time at all.One roll only does about one door, so snag a few. I'm getting ready to purchase more, as I only purchased 2 and gave one to my neighbor who was having the same but problem. I'm so happy when a product is so simple to use and works well. Bye-bye bugs...bye-bye higher electric bills and hello happiness!!

tough to install, pretty thick

Product emits a HUGE amount of particles in the air - no idea what's in it (package does not list contents) or how harmful. I would definitely recommend wearing a mask. Not only did it aggravate my asthma, but it was bothering my roommate who has no asthma or allergy issues. Also, wear old clothes or something that you plan to take right off after using the product so you're not carrying the substance/particles around all day (unless you're on a full construction project and it doesn't matter so much.)Using the product leaves your fingers a dark silver color. I washed my hands five times and still could not get all of the residue off. I was very worried about harmful chemicals and substances entering my skin/body. Wear gloves!This is a nail-on felt strip, not stick on. It's 1 1/4" wide and 3/16" thick. It really took a lot of nails to form the type of seal needed to work effectively. Even then I still felt the wind coming through around the window trim.I also tried this product in another capacity; I had a sliding glass door with a very slight gap between the two doors where a large draft and bugs were coming through. Until the door can be replaced (it's old, broken and ugly) I just needed something to help seal the gap so I stuffed the opening with some of this felt weather strip. It really filled the gap tightly, but the wind still made it through the felt. It was again an awful experience using the product with the particles filling the air, getting all over my skin, hair, clothes and everything. I was using up the leftover that I had and really wish I didn't even bother.My personal experience with this product was awful and I will never again use it.

Very easy to use. Just what I needed. Just wish it came in a little wider size.

Got leaky doors and windows this stuff has been around for ages, because it works. It's not vary fancy and you have to tack it or glue it down (not peal and stick). Do it right and it should last a long time.

I put a double layer of this felt on top of an exposed carpet tack strip on the floor. I put one side of the double layer felt underneath the end of the carpet and the felt stays in place. Now I don't have to worry about stepping on sharp tacks on the carpet tack strip. It is a temporary solution until I get new carpet put down. This felt is rather thin. Most felt is made out of cotton, but it does not say on the package or on the manufacturer’s web site what this felt is made out of.
