Anker New Laptop Battery for Apple A1150 A1175 A1211 A1226 A1260 [Li-ion 9-cell 5200mAh] - White

When I received the battery, the first thing I did was compare the size with the original apple battery that I still had. The new battery was not exactly the same size and stuck up from the battery compartment a little bit. So far it hasn't caused a problem, but don't know if it will down the road. It only holds a charge for maybe 2 to 3 hours of sustained use, which is better than my original battery, but still less than I expected. It is cheaper than the apple battery, so this is one of those situations where it would be accurate to say that you get what you pay for.Update as of 5/29/12The batteries performance as improved some after being cycled a handful of times as instructed by a customer service rep. They also reminded me of a one year warranty ensuring that it will be replaced if is flawed. So far the fit of the battery has not been an issue. It is nice to know that the customer service is great, so even if it is a problem in the future, it will be taken care of.

Ok so I bought this in Dec 2014 for a 2008 15" Macbook Pro. It fit perfectly, and in the initial stages it got about 2 1/2 hours on a full charge. This was equivalent to the original battery that came with the laptop. But now, about 18 months later it gets about 30 minutes on a full charge. Yes I have cycled it from time to time but still only 30 minutes. This is about equal to what my original battery was getting after 5-6 years.So basically it's useless for charging and taking the laptop anywhere to use. Not the life expectancy I was expecting.Edited on May 8, 2016Just a few days after my review I heard from Anker Direct by email. They thanked me for my review and said it sounds like I had a defective battery and if I provided them my address they would immediately send a replacement. Wow. Nice service. I never even contacted them and didn't remember it had an 18 month warranty. I sent my address and within a couple of days had a new battery. This is some of the best customer service I have had through Amazon. I have done 3 full charging cycles and get about 2 1/2 hours on a charge. This is about equivalent to my original battery. This is after all a 2008 model, and battery life is MUCH better in new models. So I am increasing my rating to 4 stars from 3. I need to see how long it maintains a good charge and hope I can increase it again to 5 stars. Bravo Anker!

Bought this battery based on the many positive reviews, January 2013. It seemed like a good alternative to the official Apple battery, which was significantly more expensive. I wouldn't have minded the cost, except it's a laptop we barely use anymore (iPad user now), I couldn't justify the cost for such an old computer. It worked ok for a while, but after a year or so, the ability for the battery to hold a charge started to drop off badly. I pulled the computer from its sleeve after about 6 months without use and found the battery bulging out of the computer very badly. This battery barely saw any use over its three years, but still didn't last. No battery should bulge like this on its own, they're dangerous enough devices as it is.I would definitely not recommend this product, I'm just glad it didn't fail worse than this. The moral of the story is stick with factory batteries, the charge capacity lasts longer and the batteries don't fail like this.

Bought this just over 2 years ago. I worked okay for about the first year, although I noticed progressive amounts of warping and slowly diminishing battery life. In the 2nd year of life it was of very limited use, couldn't even watch a whole movie on my laptop. Now it's so warped that it will not fit in the battery compartment and is of no use.[Update Aug 2015]As you can see in the comments on this review, Anker reached out to me to help. They provided a brand new battery free of charge. This is great customer service and the sign of a company that stands behind their products. I do not yet know how the battery will hold up over time, but with this second battery I will have gotten very good value for my initial purchase. Thanks Anker!

I'm a systems engineer, often having to tote my laptop around from place to place, city to city, to work on stuff remotely; often times just connected to a car or if it's a remote worksite i might not have that. I use an older MacBook Pro mostly because it's convenient for me. I've already gone through 3 other batteries, 2 OEM Apple, and 1 from some no-name. The No-name lasted perhaps a year before grossly bulging from gases, while the Apple's took maybe 3-4 years each.This Anker battery so far has been every bit as good on the cycles and health as the Apple batteries, it fits exactly as it should and properly shows as charging or discharging without fuss. I also don't get that weird error where the MacBook doesn't recognize the battery itself. So far I've used it in Tulsa, Chicago, and San Francisco. Next month I'll be in Toronto, then Montreal, and New York.So far I get around 4.5-5 hours from a full charge, and that's also with charging/syncing my iPhone a couple times. Very well worth the money so far! It came well packaged in a foam box with clear instructions in case someone needs them, and had no defects at all from inspection or use.
