Can it be used in a pond running continuously

I have had mine running for a week with no adverse effects.

not really ,,750 watts costs about 15p per hour ..thats a lot of water moved for that money!!!! hope this helpfull.

Will a 50mm discharge hose work or is it to wide ?

I think the widest hose this pump will accept is 32mm. Even then with the pressure of the pump we had to use a jubilee clip to secure. Slightly narrower than 50mm hoses are available from large DIY stores but invest in a couple of jubilee clips just in case.
