I did not expect to actually like the flavor, but to my surprise, for the most part, they were great! You know, for that late evening desire to have something sweet, but not have to make a batter, and bake it. One of the Applesauce cakes was a bit dried out, but that was probably during the manufacturing process. A bit expensive, I supposed, but yesterday I looked at prices in a convenience store, and was shocked! This doesn't seem overly expensive after all. BTW, the second applesauce cake was great! I probably need to get out from the field more.

For MRE cakes it was pretty good. The vanilla, apple sauce and cinnamon bun all tasted good. Will definitely be buying more for my next camping trip.

Need to have some king of clear packing date. Found only 3 different kinds in one of two boxes ordered. So I tried one of each. Didn’t open second box yet. Hoping it will have more variety.I would definitely buy again, but with caution since is hard to know how old thing are or have gotten without dates on packaging.Besides that, best value for the quality hands down.

It's cake with a specific purpose behind it- made to be portable and packaged to prevent spoilage for eating outside.You should know that the taste and texture isn't going to be the same as from a bakery local to you; the point of this is ease of use in camping or stressful situations. it also lasts longer than other cake and doesn't need refrigeration. This does taste better than the entrée types that usually come with it. Yes faint praise.

My wife loves the MRE cakes that we get out of the MRE’s we eat when we are hiking, but there are only a select few that have the snacky cakes in them.So I did some looking and found these on amazon thru this vendor and ordered 2 boxs. My wife loves them and always has a few in her bag when she or both of us go on a adventure thru the wilderness. It’s a great item to have on the side for a quick bite while on the go and are all individually sealed and have the freshest made date on them of this year, 02/2020 and should last at least 5 years but they will be eaten before that.

These have a listed shelf life of 5-years. The ones I just received are 1-1/2 years old so only 3-1/2 years remaining. The date codes are on each individual package. "3240" means 2023 - 240th day of the year (i.e. August 28, 2023). That was 17 months before they were received.

We was so surprised how good these cake taste . Yes they are slightly on the dry side but remember these are MREs . I think they would satisfy any sweet tooth . When children like them you know you have a good thing .

Quality was not good. Not at all like what you would find in a real mre. Not even close to being worth the money.
