Very well written!
I have spent the last few months reading anything I could get my hands on about USCG rescue stories. The amazing people who brave fishing these chilling waters to the people who save their lives when disaster strikes. I loved reading this book! A compilation of some of the most heroic and spine tingling true events. You will read this book in one sitting! Fast paced, heart stopping and you will truly feel the emotional rollercoaster these strong willed men/women go through!

This book brings it all to life
Spike Walker is a great man both as a writer and as a person. I have read, and own, all his books. The way he brings the near misses and the close calls, the good and the bad, the fights and the friendships together in his books makes you fight for the group as a family, not just as people you don't know. This is a Deadliest Catch kind of book, so if you are a fan of the show and the people on it, then this is a book you will want to read and own.

Exciting book that needs a technical proof-reading tweak in a couple chapters.
Stories have technical errors. My review refers to the Kindle edition. Refers to CG helicopters a couple of times as Hueys, when in fact they are Sikorskys - Hueys are a model of helicopter manufactured by the Bell Helicopter company. The CG has never deployed Hueys as they are not a SAR aircraft, Hueys are operated by other branches of the US Armed Forces. Otherwise a well written narative that conveys the drama and dangers that exist in the waters of the North Pacific. I'm a former enlisted CG member 1979-1984, so the aircraft model discrepancy rather jumped out at me as I read the stories.

exciting survival stories
I enjoyed the riveting accounts of boats sinking in the icy waters around Alaska and the ensuing rescues. Spike Walkwr makes you feel like you are in the icy waters with the men who have to abandon their boat suddenly. I have tried to imagine floating in seas where there is 100 feet from wave top to bottom of the trough.thestories were thrilling and I didn't want to put the book down. Keep it up, Mr. Walker.

Good
This author has been there and experienced this hard life that many people would not be able to do. Great story and opened my eyes to the deadliest job in the world.

Short and sharp stories
This book is straight to the point about individual tales of survival. There’s no fluff. It speaks directly of the survivors experiences - what happened to them in the water and what they were thinking and feeling.

Interesting.
Interesting but rather abbreviated stories and less interesting than the books related to the show 'Deadliest Catch'.
