Zebco404 Spincast Fishing Reel

I make fun of the name but for the price it's hard to beat for a starter reel.

I bought this for a bow fishing reel.

came quick, as described and ready to put on any rod.

I had been buying better quality and more expensive reels but my son with Autism seems to break the buttons so I decided this was a better option. So far my only suggestion would be to put better line on right away. The first time he used it the line broke 3 times. Once we brought it in for new line, he's been back in business.

We live on the water and leave stuff sitting on the dock... Rain, salt water splash wrecks havoc unless you buy really expensive stuff, so we got some of these so when they broke, we didn't feel bad about throwing them away... but it's been 4 months... and none have broke! They still work great! And lasted longer in harsh conditions than many others I've used.

This reel is dependable, easy for anyone to use and hard to imagine that it’s so inexpensive. I would recommend this reel for most fishing that you will encounter for the majority of river, lake and pond fishing a person will encounter. They have been my go to reel for most of my fishing.

Easy to operate.

Bought this reel for my grandkids. Work very good. I’m going to replace the line that it came with. Going to despoil it with lighter lb test.

I don't like these reels myself but my granddaughter's reel fell apart (she is 11) while fishing and she really liked that reel so I promised her I would replace it. She loves her new reel and finds it much sturdier than her old one.

Muy buen reel para iniciarte en la pesca deportiva. Cuenta con "alarma de mordedura" que te permite ser más sensible para detectar cuando un pez ha mordido el anzuelo. Aún y cuando este reel no es de baleron como el modelo zebco 33 es una excelente opción económica para tu caña y pesca de peces mediano o grandes en presas, ríos y playas.

I spooled it with 6# mono and it fails to cast smoothly. Occasionally gets snagged and fails to cast altogether. It's not the worst I've tried but I wouldn't buy it again.

I have used Zebco reels for over 30 years and they have always been excellent. Even though it is winter and it will be a while before I can use the one I bought I have absolutely no concerns about the performance of these light weight reels.
