Veinlite EMS PRO Adult Transilluminator Vein Finder

I purchased this as a gift for the ER nurses I work with. As a provider I am always trying to find ways to improve not only patient care but also the overall patient experience.This vein light does work to locate veins. When you have a patient in need of IV fluids and IV medication, it helps locate the vessel. There is still a degree of vein puncture skill required to place an IV line but the light can locate an appropriate vessel for cannulation.Patients are happier because they not only get poked fewer times but they also get the care they need faster and that includes IV pain medicine for the elderly patients with acute fractures etc.When dealing with patients in septic shock a large bore IV is desperately needed. This light was able to locate the deeper vessels in the anticubital fossa and enabled us to place an 18 gauge with ease on a patient who previously had been labeled as a "difficult stick".

I haven really tried and insert cannulation on an actual patient using this device yet, however I feel that this is a good device to track for vein and worth the price. Thanks

I have a few years experiences in telemetry/critical care, EMS and currently work in home infusion. I had my doubts about this product, especially considering the price. I love this little toy though! Works great! It's performed really well on difficult patients. It even makes the IV process easier on moderate to easy patients by illuminating the vein and holding traction ABOVE the IV site without concerns of sticking one's self. If you want to take your IV game to the next level, this is it!The only drawback is that by using this device, other nurses may question your ability. This is done out of ignorance and short sightedness. Most nurses won't even know how to correctly manipulate this device (it takes a little time to adept to). Just ignore them and let the results speak for themselves!

Purchase for my adult sister, as she has infusions every 6 weeks, and difficult time locating veins.Product lighting is not strong enough for an adult!Sad, as I can’t return, as I ordered the product in advance of her last infusion date, which was past the return window.Stuck with this!

We have patients with very hard to find veins due to IV drug use and hoped this product would help. It works for finding veins (that really can be found anyway) but don't expected it to help in an enviroment of hard to find veins of IV drug users

I have been using this product on the ambulance for a few months now. It is very easy to use. I have found that it only really lights up the surface veins and not the deeper forearm or AC ones. I have let multiple different people try it and the consensus is the same, way too expensive for the mediocre job it does. The two places I have found it usefull is directly visualizing how big the veins actually are in 3-D to better gauge the gauge to use and in dark pigmented people. I use it about 10% of the time now on only the most difficult patients but have found that it does not greatly increase my success rate. It takes regular practice to get the feel of it. In all, a usefull aid if it were $20, but hardly worth the expense.

I am a home health infusion nurse and often come across patients with compromised venous status; most often due to their having been damaged from multiple and failed venipuncture attempts. I used this item and am usually able to find and access vein on 1st attempt. This little gadget is amazing and well worth the cost. It travels with me always!

The communications between us were stellar and I would recommend working with this company in the future.As far as the product, it is really neat idea that on my skin shows my veins very clearly. I am looking forward to using this item tonight on night shift and having it available for other nurses to use when we get the impossible to find spidery veined grandmother/grandfather that has been stuck over and over to no avail.
