The bacteria definitely keeps the pond water clear and breaks down most material at the bottom. You will see some murkiness in the water (slight) since the bacteria is breaking down the algae/muck. There will be very small particles floating around in the water for a short period of time. Soon, that will be replaced with very healthy pond water. I am using it this year continually through the summer (per directions) to keep the water clear. When the pond is opened up in the spring, you will use this more to catch up to clear out the accumulated much from the winter. Works great.I had a major muck problem last year (not so much with algae). I started using this early in the summer and kept at it. By late summer the majority of material was gone .There will always be a slight silt coating at the bottom, and Bio-Max will maintain that throughout the season.I highly recommend this.

This is a very good product for our fish pond. We have a smallish pond, about 400 gallons, that does have a tendency to develop string algae in the winter. Using this product, we have eliminated all string algae from the pond, all year round. The pond stays much clearer through the winter when filtration is off most times and biologic is no longer active. Highly recommend this product! My brother used it in his pond and his algae problem also disappeared!

I'd tried everything. One dose of this, and my koi pond was crystal clear in a few days. Only problem is that now you can see the leaves and ugly pump at the bottom of the pond. Now I have to pretty up the bottom.
