Best reader-friendly book on visual thinking
There are a lot of books on doodling, visual planning, sketchnoting, and sketch-facilitation out there. Visual Doing, and Brand's previous book, Visual Thinking, are, hands down, the best two books about using visual thinking as a professional tool. They are written in a logical hierarchy for understanding the benefits (and yes, pitfalls) of visual expression.Visual Doing is not for those looking to Zentangle, it is a business book for business people. It explains the usefulness of visual explanations in business--for yourself, for sharing with a small group, and for communicating to a large group. It's easy to understand, professional, and clear. Visual thinking is not art, it's not doodling, it's communicating.I teach Creative Problem Solving and the first exercise is a brain teaser. As groups explained their solution, every one drew a diagram instead of using words. Visual Thinking is the way of tomorrow, but smarter than emojis.

Good Book 10 Years Ago
Today we can use white board software to create great visual videos to tell our story. This book never covers designing a visual presentation for white board software. With software, you have an unlimited size canvas to work with. It seemed to me the book is geared toward a physical whiteboard, paper, or PowerPoint presentation.
