I had grand plans to cover my back deck since it'll scortch your feet in the afternoon. I installed hooks along the house, installed wood posts, and got steel cable in preparation. These look great, they feel very durable, and filter out the right amount of sun. They are a little heavy and stretched more than I was anticipating. I got everything up and taught and we had a short rain shower that evening. When I came out the next morning, they had snagged a couple of feet and foiled my plans for a backyard oasis. It could very well be operator error and my system but I ultimately decided to return them. If I can come up with a better support system, I would definitely buy again since they are a great value!

Great shade. Bought it in spring 2020. Removed it during Michigan winter (November until April).See current picture. It is still solid. No holes or tears. Fabric is not faded or affected by direct sunlight. Storms and strong wind hasn’t damaged it yet. Let’s go for summer nr 5.Will buy another one, should this one ever break.

We just put it up, so I can't really comment on how it does with water, but I suspect it does pretty well. We installed this on a rooftop deck, which was pretty much unusable during the heat of the Texas summers. Previously we had tried an oversized umbrella, but between the sun bleaching out the color, and the high winds moving it all over the place, it wasn't a good solution. I'm sure this will fade out too, but at this low a price, switching it out every year or two is affordable. We will also be sure to take it down whenever there are tornado force winds in the forecast. But the great thing about that is the extra hardware we purchased makes that super easy to do. One note of caution, when measuring the space, be sure to make it about a foot smaller on all sides so it can be stretched to the correct size.

1 year later and these are still holding strong, despite a lot of crazy weather we’ve had, including a 80mph wind storm!We use them to shade our chicken run, and it works fantastically. Highly recommend. The strength alone shocks me, even after all this time!

This Sail provided me with enough protection from the sun that it lowered the temp inside by 7º. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again. Great Sail especially for the cost. I learned so much about geometry and Sail installation from my recent outdoor project that I’d like to share it with you. I’m renting this place so I had to spend my money wisely but efficiently. I installed a total of 5 Sails (2 rectangles, 1 right triangle & 2 triangles) each a different size & from different vendors. Each UV rating was between 180 to 190 GSM and they’re all close, I suppose. The most noticeable difference between them all was the stitching around the D-Rings.MEASURING TIP Each Sail was 8” to 16” longer than the dimensions supplied, measuring from ring to ring as if it’s laid out, not the length of the fabric between rings. Give yourself at least 38” allowance at each connection in the direction it’s being pulled. 12” to allow for fabric variation & stretch, 10” for a 4” turnbuckle & 16” for your attachment rope/cable/chain or…. If you don’t allow enough space, you may wind up with wrinkles in your fabric that don’t look so hot.INSTALLATION TIP I suggest running a small rope or a heavy string between your type points first to make sure that the Sail you’re purchasing is the right fit with enough allowances at each connection.I measured for the rectangle next to my deck using the suppliers 2 ft allowance, but the fabric variation made it too big and I had to get creative to use it. It was a bit complicated to make work but, in the end, it looked cool as heck. Obtaining the correct tie points for the triangles was the biggest challenge. By running a rope or a guy wire first, you’ll be able to determine the size sail that will fit within your tie points without wrinkles.

First sail ripped after less than a year. We fixed it ourselves after a wind storm. It ripped a second time a few months later. Purchased a second one, hoping maybe it was just a flaw in the first because we really like it!

The material is cheap, looks cheap, basically just a dollar store blue tarp, but grey.

Das Sonnensegel wurde in 2.7x2.7x3.6 bestellt und letztlich kam eines 3x3x4 - somit hing es durch und war unbrauchbar! Absolut unverschämt!!!
