The purchase of this book was in hope that a mediocre walk of faith could be moved to the level of those men and women of The Bible. The examples set before us in both Old and New Testament are real people, living real lives with real problems. . .and deliverable blessings. Our home had all the markings of these real examples---- sans blessings. Our life buckets had holes--financial buckets, health buckets, relationship buckets, joy buckets, faith buckets, etc. And now we know why. It wasn't so much about holes in the buckets; rather it was a weak cord of understanding. Now we understand the three-stranded cord and our mighty purpose through a Jewish Messiah.Some may think that we have not been Christians long enough for a mature walk, and this is the reason we needed this instruction. Oh, how wrong. Both husband and wife in this review were fully immersed in religion (at the highest, most "respected" levels) from the age of birth. . . a grand total of 108 years! And now, when we read the Bible it is ONE BOOK. We see through the fog that kept us in bondage and lack.I now know my calling, but I'm re-reading the entire Bible before beginning. I want to KNOW what I missed and not bring it to my calling so to cause others to stumble. Please note that this is NOT a call for Gentiles to become Jews. You will not be asked to live UNDER anything. . .you will be encouraged to live COVERED by all the goodness of a loving Father.This is what my family did to receive such blessing: 1. We committed to reading a chapter of the book each night (if it was possible). 2. Each reading was followed by the free study guide we downloaded from Curt Landry Ministries (we submitted our transaction number from our Amazon purchase to receive the guide). 3. We had a Jewish/Gregorian Calendar that we began writing blessings upon as they happened. . . and in 17 lessons our minds, heart, soul and spirit has been transformed by the hearing of the Word. Now, we are reading the Bible with great understanding and a deep thirst. It is a renewal of our first love in Christ; something we thought we were too old/too educated/too engrained/ too crusty to ever experience.If your heart is seeking (unlike the 2-star reviewer who read a story rather than experienced a journey), this book will not end at 17 chapters. . .no, that is just the beginning of thawing your iceberg. You will find God, and He will be as real to your situation as He was to Curt Landry. Blessings on the readers.P.S. Rabbi Landry hits the nail on the head with a keen and astute sense of purpose. As the Apostle Paul makes mention of this new concept of the One New Man in Ephesians 2, Rabbi goes on to expound that we as a people will not come into alignment with God and His Kingdom Purpose until we realize our long-forgotten Jewish heritage, a heritage that was stolen from us, and adapt our lifestyle to fit God's plan, not the other way around. At that point we can come into covenant relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the One True God of Heaven and Earth.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was not only interesting but informative & insightful. The author wove his personal story throughout the discussions of explaining the Jewish heritage & history. I strongly recommend this book!

Because of my background, I was really interested to read the book, Reclaiming Our Forgotten Heritage: How Understanding the Jewish Roots of Christianity Can Transform Your Faith by Curt Landry. My hope is that he would help lead me a little further back into my personal roots.The book is based on Curt's life, his upbringing and finally his discovery of his roots being given up for adoption, by a Jewish mother and Catholic father. This helped him better identify who he was and ultimately who he was to become.As a Christina, he now began to understand how his faith was rooted in Judaism. This led to many changes in his life, in which he believes God has called him to help bridge the gap between the church (Christianity and the nation of Israel and a Jewish faith).He ultimately concludes that if the church would return to their Jewish roots, they would gain a greater relationship with God, experience greater blessings and a sense of passion and purpose.I expected something a little different in the book, so I was disappointed, but that is because my preconceived expectations were not met.This is a good book and intriguing story.I received this book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review.

It book is amazing, i learned so much about my heritage in the bible that is so necessary for me to today to help me with things that im struggling with.

I love this book! I have been wanting to get back to the roots of Jesus which are now my roots and this book was a great read for that!

Great book. The writer takes the reader in a journey through their life and educates all of us on the facts of early "Christian" life as we thought and were taught it was.
