Great Ligature never mind the naysayers
I've read quite a few bad reviews on this ligature and they are all wrong. I have 5 of these. 3 for my alto mouthpieces and 2 for my tenor and they are great. They fit every one of my mouthpieces perfectly Including a Selmer C* for both my tenor and alto as well as a Vandoren AL3 and Yamaha 4-C a Cannonball Alcazar stock for my alto and a Bari Tenor. The ligature works great on all of them. It's easy to put on, easy to adjust and holds the reed in place great. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this ligature and for $12 its a no brainer. Ignore the naysayers and get one or 5

Its good
Its pretty durable. Its my first leather I don't think I'm qualified to critique it because I have nothing to compare it to except for those cheap gold ligatures. It also comes with a mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is also pretty durable but its slightly bendy, unlike my previous one.

Almost perfect
This is almost the perfect saxophone ligature. It feels very sturdy, it's easy to attach and remove, the ribbed design means it's not easy to accidentally knock your reed out of alignment, and it comes with a mouthpiece cap designed to fit the ligature snugly. The only reason I'm docking it one star is because of the smell. It smells AWFUL. I had to let it air out for 2-3 days before I could even stand to have it under my nose while playing saxophone, and even now, it still stinks a little. I've tried different methods to remove the chemical smell such as rubbing alcohol, but that actually made it worse. If they can do something about that God awful smell, they'll have a winner on their hands. But honestly, for the price, you're not going to do much better. It's just that good, even with the smell.

Perfect for What I Needed
I'm thrilled with mine, and I have a big box full of different ligatures, none of which worked with my new mouthpiece.Sizing a ligature for your mouthpiece can be tricky. Here are the dimensions that matter.X-axis (horizontal) range: 7/8" (22.26 mm) to 1-3/16" (30.16 mm)Y-axis (vertical) range: 15/16" (23.81 mm) to 1" (25.4 mm)These measurements are for the front of the slightly conical ligature. I've found that if the front fits where you want to align it, the slightly larger rear diameter will also fit the conical mouthpiece shape.I needed this for a very expensive, custom, hand-made, TENOR (not alto) saxophone mouthpiece that has unusually thin dimensions. Price didn't matter but the fit had to be perfect.I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of materials and construction of this ligature and it does everything that it's supposed to do really well. It even has small protective tabs under the tightening screw, so you won't get any scratches on the top of your mouthpiece. The legendary maker of my custom mouthpiece told me, in no uncertain terms, to only use metal ligatures. I've been playing for 56 years and respectfully disagree with him. What matters is the fit and how effective it is in firmly holding the reed to the table of the mouthpiece. The trick for leather or imitation leather ligatures is to maintain pressure on the underside with your thumb, to ensure it's firmly pressed against the mouthpiece table while tightening it.If the interior diameters of this ligature fit your mouthpiece (remembering to leave room for the reed in the Y-axis), then I'm sure you'll be as pleased as I was with this ligature.

Solid ligature!
Solid ligature! Easy to use and great seal of reed to mouthpiece. Mechanics still functioning well after many hours of playing. Great value for the cost. Excellent choice for beginning players developing a good sound and tone but very functional for any level. I play different ligatures depending on the mouthpiece but this is always in my arsenal.

You get what you pay for
It does a job and helps produce a better sound, but doesn't fit particularly well on my mouthpiece.
