EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!!
After 37 years of marriage, four kids, and three grandchildren (so far) I finally realized the need for an ice bag. Crazy right? We never really had the need for one, fortunately. Growing up our kids didn't get hurt to the point where they needed an ice bag. Now, I'm the one who needs the ice bag, and often. I've been using large Ziploc bags, doubled, with a dish towel wrapped around it. It never really occurred to me to just buy an ice bag. I recently had oral surgery and boy did I need that ice bag. Six straight days with that thing on my face for at least 12 hours a day. The Ziploc bags did work but honestly it was a hassle putting the whole thing together, was not comfortable and I could not really feel the coolness of the ice coming through. So while I sat here with my version of an ice pack I decided it was finally time to order one. I went with the Mueller because of their reputation and I wanted a bag that was not made in China regardless of the price. I diligently try not to purchase anything from China unless I absolutely have to. The Mueller ice bag is very well made, high quality. It has a plastic liner so there is no water leaking through and the bag does not sweat. The ice fits perfectly through the opening and the cap closes nicely. The ice lasts for a long time and when you take it off and put it down somewhere, you don't have to worry about it marking up your table or leaving a wet spot on your couch, bed, etc. It was also very comfortable on my face. I would highly recommend the Mueller ice bag.

Portable and Great Quality!
After decades of using this same ice bag, ours leaked, so we replaced it with this one. Hopefully we don't need it, lol, but if we do, it's very reliable and allows us to heat or chill whatever injury occurred!

Get this Ice Bag--Trust Me
At the risk of sounding obsessed, let me share the saga of finding the perfect ice bag.I had both knees replaced about a year ago. Needless to say, I needed to ice my knees frequently both before and after the surgery. In those two years, I tried every ice bag, ice pad, ice system known to man. Here is my assessment of all approaches:REUSABLE GEL PADS: Usually blue, plastic and filled with gel, placed in freezer and is reusable. The good thing about these is that they don't leak--they are reusable and they can form around the area. The bad thing that was a deal breaker for me is that they lose their cool quickly--and you need to have a number of them in your freezer to make sure you have it when you need it. And they simply do not get as cold as a regular ice bag.ICE BAG- RUBBER: Ice bags are arguable the best. You can fill at will with ice again and again. They get much colder than the gel pads. They can be packed in a suitcase and used at a hotel (if you travel like I do). HOWEVER, the wrong bag is worse that the gel pads. I have found that rubber ice bags are prone to "condensation" and if you use at night, you will wake up with a wet mattress where the bag is. Not fun.ICE BAG-FABRIC: Again, the ice bag is the best overall. But Fabric bags can be very stiff and hard to form around your joint or area you are trying to ice. They don't conform as well as the rubber bags. And I have found they leak--not sure why.THIS ICE BAG: The Mueller Ice Bag is the best ice approach I have ever used. It is soft like the rubber bags, but do not have the same level of condensation. And they DO NOT LEAK. The soft, rounded plastic of the mouth and screw top never hurt you when it happens to touch your skin, and the mouth is big enough for any size ice cube. The "fabric" of the bag is perfect. SIMPLY THE BESTWishing you speedy recovery.

This beats ziplocks and tube socks anyday!
Okay I don't usually use tube socks anymore but they do work in a pinch. I suffer from frequent migraines and neckpains so I go to bed or to a chair with a refreezable icepack or a ziplock of ice very frequently. The refreezable icepacks are alright, they are never "too cold", they don't leak, but they also dont stay cold long, <1hr. The ziplock and towel/sock works but it can be easy to make it "too cold", and all too frequently even double bagged - they'll leak. This thing is really the perfect solution. It is lined to be water tight, has a water tight gasket on the top, and NEVER leaks. I usually add maybe a dozen ice cubes, and a little (~8oz) cool -> warm water. Depends on how long I want it to last and how cool I want it to be. Generally if I'm using it for my head I don't want it ice cold, so the warm water helps. Water in it also helps conform to my heads shape and "wrap" around it instead of just hard cubes that are touching here and there. I don't even fill it up halfway for headaches to minimize the weight/pressure on the head, and I make sure I squeeze all air out before sealing it up. I can keep one of these cold for at least a couple hours that way. If you're using it for other injuries like a knee, and you just fill it with straight ice - it'll stay cold for probably 4+hrs. The only thing I might want is a bit larger one just for my head. It does have a tendency to slip off my forehead usually within a couple hours (I am an extremely still back sleeper), I think a bit large of one that would go off the sides of the head would not only cover more spots but also provide more stability.

Good quality, soft outer fabric
This is a great little ice bag. It stays cold for a long time and the material itself is soft and soothing. The only thing I would change is the size. It’s a bit small, but adequate for a small area needing an ice bag. I will probably order a second larger one also.

My Favorite Ice Pack
This was perfect for my jaw after a recent tooth extraction. I tried other ice packs, but all were hard and uncomfortable. They were just hard blocks of ice. They were so cold I had to wrap them in a towel, and they were terrible. This remained soft and pliable. I was able to mold it to my face. It stayed cold for hours, and it didn't leak after the ice melted.I suffer from migraines, and this will be perfect to take when I travel. It's small and lightweight and will fit in my suitcase. Just fill up with ice from the ice machine for relief.
