has a bit of a conga style ring without dampeners
wasn’t sure about these heads at first because they were a little to open for me, just couldn’t get the right sound out of them for recording until i added sound dampeners, it gave me a lot more control and now they sound great

Bought these to replace the stock heads that came with my son's Pearl drum kit. The quality of the sound is night and day!! We are extremely happy. Such a richer tone. You can not go wrong with these! Easy to tune.

Great head if you like double ply depth and attack without the loss of the drum's tone. These heads allow my DW Performance Series toms to sing without unnecessary overtones. And they are super easy to tune. Love the feel and sound.
