Decent Lion's Mane for the price
It's a decent supplement for the price, but the mycelium and/or substrate content really shouldn't be there, only the fruiting body. I've read about Lion's Mane causing people a lot of GI discomfort, and that was my experience, too, but only for the first week or so. If you've experienced that with Om, don't blame the brand. It's common with all of them. Plus, I was taking the full 2000mg at once. Dividing the dose to twice a day made it more tolerable. Whether or not it's having any significant effect on my cognition, it's hard to say right now. I may have less brain fog, but nothing else noticeable. It's been less than a month, though, so I'll continue to take it. For those interested in Lion's Mane, also consider Bacopa and L-Tyrosine. They all mix well together.

Mushroomy taste.
I’ve only been trying it for a few days. The taste is better with beef broth than coffee.

Made me feel off
I started taking OM Mushroom Superfood Lion’s Mane hoping for better focus and mood, but after a week or so, I began feeling off. I became more shy, avoided eye contact with my husband, felt awkward around my kids, and couldn’t concentrate at work. It was like I wasn’t acting like myself. After looking into it, I found out OM’s lion’s mane contains both fruiting body and mycelium, which might affect people differently. It could be influencing my nervous system and neurotransmitters, which might explain the mood and behavior changes. Some people are more sensitive to these effects, especially if the dose builds up over time.Once I stopped taking it, those weird feelings faded and I started feeling normal again. I may try a different brand later that only uses the fruiting body or explore gentler focus supplements.

High Quality Product; Here Are My Consumption Suggestions
I wanted to give myself some time before I could write a review. It's been several weeks. I'm assuming most people buy this stuff for health and mental benefits. I am a student; it's obvious how any mental/cognitive improvement can be considered an edge in academia. First off, yes, the flavor is mushroomy and a bit strange. I am a healthy eater whose taste buds are no longer addicted to nasty modern food - the mushroom flavor is not that bad, considering what is offered in return. The package recommends using a teaspoon as a serving, but also suggests doubling this amount in the beginning. I played it on the safe side and increased dosage after several days. The effects last several hours - slightly more calm, engaged, and willing to learn or think. Obviously, this is not a smart wonder drug. The effects are mild; this is not to say the product is bad. I am fully pleased with this high quality powder and have been using it several days a week for the past couple weeks. My vocabulary is not worse and I am good at coming up with the right words. I usually do not combine this powder with foods (just mix it with water), unless it mixes especially well (oatmeal, smoothies, green powder mixes). I feel that not combining this with other ingredients or not consuming this powder with lots of solid food is best. It will not make you sick either way - I just feel that absorption may be better if Lion's Mane is consumed this way. Lastly, use a clean and dry spoon every time (sort of obvious why this is a good measure). A measuring spoon will further help you "feel" out the right dosage for you over time. Overall, a good product. I am a satisfied customer.
