Fine so far!
I was a little leery of this item given the utter lack of reviews but decided to risk it since the price was such a steal! Plus, there is a 2 year warranty according to the packaging. I bought this for personal use in my office at work and have used it a few times so far. The kettle arrived packaged well, including a manual. Pretty much ignore the manual. It talks about a non-existent power switch. The kettle is easy to use, though, and heats water quickly. Just put in water to the level you want (using the handy measuring window) and hit the button for the temp you want. I like that this is a variable temperature kettle, which is hard to find at this price-point. It’s amazing what steeping teas at the proper temperature, not just boiling, does for taste! The kettle also doesn’t beep at all (the variable temp Breville I have at home—and love otherwise, loudly beeps)

No ON/OFF Button!?
While the kettle heats well, and the temperature choices are an outstanding feature, the kettle which we received has no ON/OFF button. In order to turn it off, we must either unplug the device or leave the kettle off of the base! The accompanying manual makes mentions of a button, BUT there is none. This is very inconvenient!

Good product but hard to clean
This stainless tea kettle has multiple buttons to heat the water to a specific temperature for various teas (green, white, Oolong & black). Once the water has reached the desired temperature, the kettle shuts off the electricity. For the most part, the water boils in the stainless steel interior except for the small plastic window showing the amount of water. It took 9.5 minutes to boil the maximum 57 oz. of water. Here are the reasons why I only gave it 3 stars: 1) The lid is permanently attached to the kettle in such a way that you cannot put your hand inside it for cleaning. I just use vinegar & water solution to rinse it out. 2) The calcium deposit filter at the spout is easy to remove but far harder to reinsert back into the slot. 3) The kettle shuts itself off once the water reaches the desired temperature. However, it does not whistle or beep so you would need to check on the water.

Nice Stainless Steel Kettle, with Individual Temp Settings
This is the Homewolts model 512964, a simple, good-looking electric kettle. It is super-easy to use, once you figure it out, and offers four separate precise temperatures for your various types of tea.The 34” cord is heavy-duty three-prong plug. There is no on/off button. You just select your temperature, any button, and it’s on, and then you can push any button from there. The button action is not sequential. The pot heats quickly. The online copy says it’s less than two minutes, and my experience with this item shows this to be basically accurate. The pot holds heat well, so if you need to boil up after your first cup it does not take long to get back to your chosen temperature. The pot does make a lot of noise as it’s heating. If you pick up the pot while it’s heating, the base does not automatically shut off; when you put the pot back down on the base it continues with the last selected action until it is complete. The lid is integrated into the pot and cannot be removed. The lid is gasketed and remains firmly in place while pouring; there are no dribbles out of the top. The pot has a little nylon mesh strainer, if you’re making leaf tea in the pot itself. The strainer is removable. The handle is thick and sturdy, with no rattling or movement. It’s a nice, solid handle. There is the opaque water level gauge set in the pot on the inside of the handle. As you hold the handle, you cannot get your handle hand to the lid to open or close it. You’ve got to use your other hand or set down the pot.For cleaning, the pot cannot be immersed. And neither can the base—duh. This is the main downside to have all of that awesome temperature-selecting electronics embedded in the item. If it just boils water, it’s less expensive, and you can actually dunk the thing to get it fully clean. The item does have dry-boil protection, so it will not heat if empty.Documentation: You get a little booklet with the item. It is somewhat helpful. I like the part where it tells you not to use the pot on a burner surface. They offer an 888 customer service line as well as an email address—nice. The instructions say to push the On/Off switch…but there isn’t one on this item. It would be nice to match the owner’s manual and the item. The booklet also describes a nice limited two-year warranty, but states that it’s for the K#7465D-ET kettle…but the booklet cover says this is the model 512964. Does that mean there’s some other kettle covered and not this one? What’s the deal?Price: this item currently comes in at $38. There are other, somewhat similar electric kettles with similar looks, that are in the range of $25. My assumption is that the extra $13 here is for the various specific temperatures for specific types of tea. But, I’m not entirely sure that a little bit more electronic components cost $13. That makes this item slightly spendy.Bottom Line: this is a simple two-piece electric kettle. It has precise temperature settings for four different types of tea, if you have that discerning a palette. If so, this is the item for you. If you can’t really tell, then maybe you could get a cheaper one that would work just as well.
