No, the hair is coming out of the head like a typical imitation scalp.

What material is the head itself made of?

Try dipping the hair only in semi boiling water to loosen the tangles and comb it out from the ends up. Kinda like how they do in the salon when you get braids. It is synthetic hair so it will tangle easily. Hopefully that helps.

The hair is 26-28" long but there is no info on the head's circumference. I would like to know for a project, so have posted the question in hopes that someone can measure.
