tekbotic 3DS charger : Compatible with New Nintendo 3DS XL / DSi / DSi XL / 2DS - Car, Home, or Travel

A simple review for anyone wondering what exactly this product is (for the less tech-savvy) and a brief overview of the product.What this product is/does:This is a 10 foot USB cable meant to be used with any standard wall charger (the kind your phone cord USB plugs into for charging through traditional power outlets), but while I haven't personally tested, I'm sure it would allow charging via PC, as well. The cord is basically useful if you want to charge your 3DS through non-traditional means, though, and that's why it's better than an official Nintendo 3DS Adapter (which can ONLY plug into a wall). With this cord, you'll be able to plug into your 3DS and any portable battery pack with a standard USB slot to charge your system on the go.This is the main reason I purchased this cord, as my mother is going on a trip soon and needed some way to charge her 3DS when no power outlets were available (like in a car, for example). There may be other uses for it, but mostly it's just a really solid USB cable that looks and feels more quality than the thin 3DS Power Adapters. I personally won't use it too much compared to the official adapter, because I am paranoid about using anything unofficial with my N3DS (I love it too much to let even a .000000001% risk go by), but on the off chance I need power on-the-go, I will probably bring it along with my portable battery pack and recharge my system when it gets low.It's well worth getting if you need an extra long cord for charging, however, so if that's what you need, I can't recommend a product like this enough. Don't let my paranoia confuse you, this cord is just as good as, if not better than, an official Power Adapter from Nintendo. The length is excellent for a cord of this cost and I'm willing to bet the USB cord could be used for other means, as well, although those probably involve hacking and I have no interest in whatever may come of it. Positive or otherwise, it just doesn't interest me.Just FYI, all 3DS models use the same type of cord, so if you have a o3DS (old 3DS, generally just marked "3DS"), o3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS, New 3DS XL or even the upcoming New 2DS XL, you can make use of this cord.

If you are reading this then you probably bought a new Nintendo 3DS and may or may not have read the back of the box before purchase only to realize that it does not come with an AC charger. As I found out when I finally got home I immediately went onto Amazon and typed in Nintendo 3DS charger and this was one of the first to pop up. This charger works exactly as it is supposed to work and I am very pleased with it.

Really the only time I plug in my 3DS XL is when the red, low-power LED comes on while playing. If I continue playing my favorite game (ACNL: for example) while plugged in to the 10ft. 3DS charger, my 3DS dies a little while after. Which means that it definitely charges.. but the input power is less than the 3DS's output power. I would opt out of the 10ft cable and possibly get one of their other lengths.. especially for continuous play.

Great Company and Great product!!! The packaging is super professional, and the price is super awesome for the quality you get. The chargers are brand new and are super great quality, they click into the system firmly and arent flimsy at all. Customer service is also a 10/10. HIGHLY recommend getting this charger!!!!!!

Unlike some of the other offerings available on Amazon, these wires can actually charge my 2DS at a reasonable rate, and even provide enough power to keep playing while it charges. That may not sound particularly effective, but after trying others that couldn't even handle that, I'm very pleased. That it's a combo-pack only sweetens the deal.

Finally I can charge my 3DS while on the couch! This is a SUPER long cord and the fact I can plug it into either a USB car port or an apple brick means I can save some room in my travel bag for other stuff since the original charger was a bit hefty.

I ordered 2 but only 1 of them work.I tested with the same charger with both cables and the 3DSXL only started charging from one of them.Update:Tekbotic customer service was pretty responsive and replaced the cable with minimal trouble on my part.

This AC Adapter is a good one. It works great with any 3DS or New 3DS. I love the USB connector as well. The only problem I have is that the main AC Adapter is shorter than my older ones. My older ones are 6'3" long and this one is 3'4". I really would've loved a longer AC Adapter.
