VAVOFO Outdoor Smart Outlet with 3 Sockets, WiFi Smart Plug Compatible with Alexa Google Home, IP44 Waterproof Wireless Remote Control by Smartphone APP

I was wondering if I would be able to program these outlets to turn on and off at different times via the App when connected to WiFi, then move the device to an outdoor location which doesn't have WiFi. I'm pleased to say that the timers do function without WiFi (once programmed). I'm guessing there must be an RTC (Real Time Clock) on board which is able to keep the time. The outlets did power on and off according to the schedule, but were off a few minutes here and there (not as accurate if it had access to the WiFi time-of-day). But never the less, the timers did work without WiFi.In addition, I had the device disconnected for about 24 hours before running my experiment - and the internal clock kept pretty decent time. I don't know how long the internal battery/power capacitor would keep the RTC powered without it being plugged in. I did open it up (see pictures) and didn't see a battery, and the documentation does not refer to an RTC. It looks like a pretty straightforward design - the WiFi model is on an MCM connected to the main board which has the 3 relays to control the outlets, and what looks like a small 5V supply to the left for the relays and WiFi module.It would have been nice to have a separate button to manually operate each relay individually - but will have to settle for the single button "all" on/off.Overall I'm pleased with the product - it's a great value for the functions it provides.

Really nice outdoor plug with three independently controllable switches.I bought it on a lightning deal, so didn't read all the reviews and was pleasantly surprised to see that when I set it up.I replaced an old mechanical timer that was controlling my outdoor lights. Now I can have one outlet "always on" for lawn equipment and have another one (or two) for the lighting that only comes on at night. Nice! The programmable ability to say "Come on at sunset and turn off at 11pm" is better than just setting hard stop and start times with a mechanical timer.Easy to set up. Each of these inexpensive wifi outlets seems to want me to install a different app, but you can control them all from the same app if you want. Set up a "scene" (I call mine "goodnight") and just say "Alexa, goodnight" and the scene will run. You do have to avoid name conflicts with Alexa. (E.g. if you name the scene "sundown", you can't say "alexa, sundown" because it will tell you the sunset time.)

The Vavofo Smart Outlet is both durable and easy to use. We’re using this unit to plug in items like string lights and big zappers on our patio. The unit plug into standard outlets. It pairs quickly, but requires the Smart Life app. The app requires registration which some users may find burdensome or unnecessary. Once paired, the outlet allows for each plug to be controlled independently which allows you to turn one plug without having turn on all plugs. The unit connects seamlessly with Google Home and can be controlled by voice command through Google Home. It has made it easier to enjoy our patio. I’m already planning to order another one for Christmas time to control lights and decorations.

I needed 3 outdoor outlets that are controlled by the Smart Life app on my iPhone. I already had the app and use it for other smart outlets in my home. My main concern was the ability of it to have a strong enough signal from the 2.4Ghz Wifi signal from within my house to the placement of this product outside. I had an outlet under the deck that is an outdoor dual socket. I also had a concern about the description of this product on Amazon stating it must be plugged in to a socket at 1.3 Meters above the ground. Most US sockets are not that high off the ground. No explanation was given for the reason behind this statement either (that's a hint to the sellers). But when I plugged this in and pressed the button on it for 5 seconds I stepped through in the Smart Life app Add device process, this product came up and it worked perfectly, no issues.I've only had this a few days now but so far I see no issue with this being plugged into the socket under my deck. It is approx 2 feet above the ground and hangs down. I plugged my deck lighting into the first socket. In the app I renamed the socket 1 to be something descriptive like Deck Lighting and I can now control them from my phone. I was also able to setup a smart event based on sunrise/sunset times for my location so now the deck lights come on at sunset time and I programmed them to go off at a specific time at night. It works perfectly for me. I am very happy with this product and happy I purchased it.

I originally bought this to use with outdoor string lights that we have strong over the highest corner of the patio all the way to the patio table. So it didn't have to be super powerful I just wanted to make sure that it was safe outdoors. well my husband got creative he wanted to see how far he could push it.He connected at first string lights and small desktop type lamp that we actually use on the patio and a fan. The fan turned into the electric cleaner that we have for the pool floor. Then that turned into are spa. It actually worked!So now depending on what we needed at the time, we can basically use it on any of our little devices/mini appliances through our Alexa too (I have an Alexa addiction) It's an addition I didn't know how easily we could use.
