SperryMen's Gold Authentic Original Boat Shoe

Shoes were exactly as described. Fit was perfect. Very comfortable on my feet especially with the lambskin inner lining (can't wear unlined or rough leather against my skin). The blue color goes well with shorts and pants. First time with Sperry and will continue if they stand up to normal wear.Update (July 8, 2002) - Still very comfortable. For those interested, I can compare these with the top of the line Gold Cup crafted in Maine by noting the differences. The GC A/O are softer and comfortable from day 1 due to the lambskin lining, thinner full grain leather and Ortholite footbed. The outsoles are more flexible because of the rubber material. The GC CiM have thicker Horween leather that is perforated on the interior with small holes to provide a smooth surface for your bare skin, a diffrent orthotic foot bed insert and Vibram outsole. They are firmer but should soften during use as they conform to your feet.

Hi, if you have a wide foot with a narrow heel like I do, this is a great shoe for a woman. The quality is much higher than the women's boat shoe version (better leather). It's a boyish look but I like this shoe a lot and would recommend it.

On the upside, this shoe looks quite good when combined with the right outfit.On the downside, because the shoelaces are only held in place by two holes on each side, the shoe does not close firmly and always sits a bit too loosely.Also, even for a shoe of this type, the sole offers very little support for the foot.So, I probably would not buy this product again.

After having A/O shoes for decades, this is the first Gold version that I have purchased. It is clearly more comfortable and cushy than the regular A/O although some would say not worth a 60% increase in price. For my regular A/O shoes lately after just a couple years of use, they have had a problem with hardening of the sole material making them slick and dangerous on the boat rather than sticky as they were when new. This did not used to happen in the past. Hoping the soles on the Gold version (which appear different) hold up better. Will raise this to a 5-star review if they do.

I do believe they are real gold cups, however, I think they were slightly defected and off loaded to zappos. The problem is the sole. The sole is ever so slightly larger than the top of the shoe. I own 3 other pair of gold cups, and compared them to the other shoes. Mostly everything is spot on except the sole, especially on the inside of the shoes, it sticks out like 3/8" more than it should. The color is awesome. Prob one of the best colors. I think because of the price I am going to keep them. Had I paid 160, no I'd return them faster than light could travel.** Update Its not the sole thats the problem, its how the leather is sewn onto the sole.. Its pinched in.. I really want to return them.Dont be scared of buying $80 gold cups on here, I bought 2 other pair at that price point and they were fine.

All I can say is wow! The quality and comfort of Sperry Gold Cup for a fraction of the normal price. I was looking for a pair of the Gold Cup boat shoe to replace a pair I have used for years as slippers. Amazon had my size in a two tone dark brown/light brown for 1/3 the usual price. Just delivered and feel great right out of the box! Thank you Amazon!

Wrong sizes or shoe design is causing it.these boat shoes were my favorite in the 80s.well,I don't think they make em the same, anymore.i bought 5 different sizes in a month,smaller and bigger,wide...it's either too large or too small.tired of returning the last one,i kept it,it's size 11,what I wear,but causes shoe bites on the heel and squeezes my toes in the front.

These shoes are buttery soft. The difference between these Gold Cups and the regular ones I have are night and day. I will never go back to the regular ones again. I got the navy blue. The metal lace things looked silver in the photo but I was pleasantly surprised to see they are gold.

Authentic Sperry high quality deck shoe. The best fitting deck shoe I have ever bought.

I have been wearing Sperry Topsiders for 40years. The gold cup is the best so far. A bit pricey but they will last forever. Timeless classic with modern comfort.
