Native Union Retro Bluetooth POP Phone - POPBT-BLK-JET-ST - Jet Black

I'm glad I decided to focus on the positive reviews and ignore the negative ones. This handset is great! I get a clear, strong signal, and everyone I've talked to can hear me just fine. I don't think the audio quality is better than my phone, but it is MUCH better than the audio quality of my speaker phone. It's much more comfortable than holding my phone to my ear for a long conversation. As for battery life, it's actually a bit better than advertized. It has been on almost non-stop since I got it (36 hours ago) and I've had a few short calls and four long calls in the 1-2 hour range and it is still going strong. I decided not to charge it again until I need to and I have no idea when that will be. Opinion seems to be decided as to whether it is better for home use or out and about. I can't settle the debate because I've used it for both and like using it for both. In fact I used it on public transportation and it was great, not just because I enjoyed the looks it got when I took it out of my bag. The volume control meant that I could hear the other person speaking over the rumble of the train, and didn't have to yell to make myself heard. Also I liked being able to answer my phone without having to take it out of my bag.A couple of helpful hints: Make sure there's a verification code on the box so you know you have the real thing. It's possible that some of the negative reviews are coming from people who were sold knock offs. Do NOT use it without charging it first. It's worth the wait to have a longer battery life. Play around with the volume controls and the position you're holding the phone in if you're getting distortion. That might take care of it.If the thing suddenly stops working or breaks after a week I'll update my review but otherwise I heartily recommend this device.

The audio quality is very sub par. I will probably end up not using it. I have a feeling the people who had great experiences got newer units. Mine was definitely old. It had been stored in the sun apparently (for quite a while), because it had a sticky residue all over it, similar to old dashboards. It is incredibly sticky. It is also an authentic product, as it has the scratch-off serial number on the side of the box. Native union is unresponsive. If you try to live-chat, you get a "please leave your email in a message and we'll get back to you soon" message. When you do, nothing happens. They never get back to you.Really disappointed, as I wanted to like this product.

I am a fan of Native Union products. I have been using the "wired" version if this retro headset and loved it. Sadly, the bluetooth version blew it. Had to revert to the wired version. Would not buy this one again.

For the most part -- uselessI had high-hopes. I think the biggest problem is the outgoing voice quality.It seems that the gain is so high and any adjustments in any app or system setting do not make a difference for outgoing gain -- other than MUTE.I connected this to an iMac, a car, a tablet... all with identical results. The other end hears utter garbage.Interesting, every app I tried on the tablet (android) would function however SKYPE (the supposed KING) never allowed use of bluetooth. Groove IP worked, Google Talk, Viber, etc all worked, albeit with atrocious outgoing quaity.It seems as though a setting on the handset is needed to turn the default gain down...There is no excuse for this product to be released this way... oh and try getting a reply from Native Union... if I could take a star off for that I would.

This works fine, but arrived dirty. Maybe it was a returned product? It came caked in several places with a brown, sticky substance. It was a present, and mostly a gag gift, so I didn't return it. I've used it pretty frequently, much more than I thought I would, and the sound quality and battery life are great. It now rattles like something inside the unit has come loose, but it still works. Not the fun showpeice/conversation started I had hoped for, but I MUCH prefer talking on this style phone. Function = 4 stars.If I'm still using it on a few months, maybe I will upgrade to a pretty one I can actually show off.

Works well paired with iPhone. Voice quality excellent.

Poor sound quality!!! This phone would only work if you were right next to the bluetooth device.
