Excellent detailed maps
A friend recommended these maps as a substitute for the De Lorme GA atlas, which hasn't been updated since 2010 and gets generally poor reviews. I used these maps to help me navigate various local secondary and other back roads, and access trail heads. The maps are richly detailed, with the AT and other trails portrayed, together with all local roads. The material on which the maps are printed feels substantial and doesn't seem prone to easily tear. I didn't have an opportunity to test how waterproof they are Highly recommended!

Scam
If there was an option for Zero stars I would have picked that. I bought a map for the Chattachooche forest but instead got a COPY of a chattahoochee map cover TAPED to a New Orleans map.You know... one of those free ones you can get at a travel information center. Awesome! Thanks Amazon.

Love NatGeo maps
Most of my maps are NatGeo. Love that they are waterproof, accurate, and durable. Shame it came with a permanent wrinkle crease that makes the fold a bit off and have to pull the map to see in the wrinkle.

Always keep a physical map
Exactly what I needed as a backup to my electronic navigation system. Backcountry trails + topo + gridlines + waterproof + tear resistant.

Not useful for hiking specific trails
I took a risk in buying these maps hoping to be able to use them for hiking some of the trails; I couldn't imagine how they could show topo details for each trail, but everyone wrote such great reviews I thought maybe the maps had blow-ups of trail areas. Not. These maps are completely useless for trail hiking. They were helpful to some extent to get an overall feel of the area, but each side has only one large area map with a scale of 1 inch = 1 mile, so you can't really get any useful topo map info for specific trails. I ended up printing out hike-specific topo maps from the web. They are a nice quality.

Really good for picking out trails for day hikes or even ...
Really good for picking out trails for day hikes or even over nighters or multi day hikes. I use it to find public land to hunt for deer and turkey. Great combination if you pair these maps with Google Earth.

A Thorough Guide for anyone
I bought this guide to aid in locating new areas within the forest for hunting. The guide very accurate, thorough, and convenient for carrying with you on the go. Perfect for hunters and hikers alike. This is exactly what I expect from National Geographic.
