This is my second purchase of the same item, but I am okay with having to purchase it again because the first one lasted me over fifteen years. my husband works for an electric company and he said this works really well! he had other ones and they were either too sensitive or not sensitive enough but this one works perfect! which is a good thing because it can be the reason he gets shocked or not by touching a hot wire! the price was very good because we got it on a mark down. and it is very easy to use.

Not sure if I am smashing this in my bag, but this will be the last one I order.Ok, three in like 10 years but this is something I use as a quick check on cables running through tray or ducting to see what is or is not hot. Without using it a lot, I would think that it would work longer.I swap batteries regularly, use quality batteries and have never dropped one to my memory. When it does work, it is always spot on.
