My 6 year old little girl loved putting it together, she needed a little help from us for the base but she did the rest on her own. She loved the result !!!

This puzzle was constructed by an eight year old with little help - functioned as expected.

I was, but in comparing samples of each, the two-sheet Hands Craft turtle (and the yacht) appears to be coming apart more easily and neatly than some of the others, fitting together the best, the super-fine-grain wood has almost no burls or catches or funny edges, and while the instructions leave something to be desired, that's true of pretty much all of them - to include the kits I've paid 2x this for.Some quick-set superglue gel or thick wood glue that won't run is a real asset, but the pieces fit pretty well.This one is nice because it leaves more flat surface area for younger sets to decorate.Not too young, though. It's going to depend on how delicate your 5-8 y/o is.Without a 3rd hand, I probably would not have gotten it together because I lack the patience going into my 4th decade of assembling models, reading nonfiction and novels, gardening, and playing with Lego (it's not like I'm "insta") and without glue, it would have been hairy on my own.Not as hairy as some of the other puzzles, though.I really am pleased with this.Pleased enough, I'm reordering 3 of the Hands Crafts models to have a simple starter build and a faster build in some art kits along with some of the 2-3-star experience level wood puzzle models. They're nice enough for old and young hands to build, but still offer a bit of challenge, time, and a really nice result for a common builder.

My husband bought two of these. He said he had to sand some of the pieces to get it to fit so it was not a snap and go project as he thought. It still turned out to be a beautiful wooden plane. All pieces are included and you get the image from the picture. He also said it was bigger than what he expected. Our son loves his new model.

Bought this to build for the Gentleman for Christmas in plenty of time. Or so I thought. I couldn't get it right in a few tries and had to give up. I had more pressing things to do. Perhaps for V-day? We'll see.

Sent this to my sailor who is a pilot as a silly gift in his deployment care package and he put it together and said it was a total hit. Everyone mentions it when they walk into his room

Ordered for four of us. Had good time working on them.
