You could use it as one part of a double switch circuit which would enable what you are after but if you wire it as a simple switch In parallel then you would have problems in control

This works in exactly the same way as a switch. If you can open the door lock with a switch then it will be fine. Just have to remember to switch it off after the door is opened each time, otherwise the door will remain unlocked.
