Red HeartSuper Saver Yarn, Aran Fleck

I wanted a very dark brown for a needlepoint project, in which I had to use brown, and a darker brown. As you can see from the photo, it’s much darker than the brown I had. The color is called Coffee; I would describe it as dark coffee.The yarn quality is okay, similar to what I buy at Michael’s or Joannes. I did find two places where the yarn was pieces together (broken and then knotted), in the first skein that I balled up, but I find that frequently in all the brands I buy. I don’t know why that happens; I cut it out.That said, it’s just fine, worsted weight, which is what I need. Priced very reasonably, for three large skeins.

It’s not a great yarn but it’s decent enough. It softens up a bit with a wash. This worked together really well. My only complaint is there were a lot of spots in the yarn where it just got really thin. It didn’t break though so I was able to complete my project. The yellow is super bright. I didn’t work my pattern to the pattern on the package cause it would have worked up too narrow. This blanket was made with 7 skeins, 100 stitches and 175 rows. I don’t know the name of the stitch pattern but it was slip stitch, hdc, skip stitch. I bordered it with the same yarn but solid purple. This looked nice without a border also.

Red heart always produces nice yarn. Color was accurate and worked up great.

I rarely use any other brand of yarn for my crochet other than Red Heart. I needed more to finish the darling bear I was making for my friend's bday. She loved it. Thank you
