Great CPU and a low price
Bought this for my new build, and for now, it works great. It`s not going to get i5 performance, but it gets great performance for just $40. The CPU uses the LGA1150 socket, and came with its own heatsink. I usually stick with the stock heatsink unless there will be overclocking, which can`t be done with this CPU. Since my needs are starting to change, I will be replacing it with an i3 soon. I would recommend this for a home or office computer. For the basics (surfing the web, email, microsoft word, etc.), this CPU performs exceedingly well. I would also recommend using the stock heatsink, as there is no overclocking with this CPU, and the stock heatsinks are designed to cool this CPU. Intel would not make a cooler that can`t cool the CPU properly. That would harm their business. They might even get so much warranty work, they might not even be able to stay in business. If you`re overclocking, however, then the cooler will no longer be effective, because now the CPU is running faster than it was designed to. But this CPU can`t be overclocked anyways, so that doesn`t even matter. If you want to do some light gaming, I would go with an i3. If you want to overclock and do some heavier gaming, I recommend an i5. Video editing, I would do an i7. What I would recommend with AMD is a completely different story that I`ll explain when I review one of their processors.

Purchased 2, so far so good!
This is my 2nd G1840 I have purchased. My first one was for my HTPC. YouTube and TV shows through the Xfinity TV website run relatively smooth. Unfortunately when I watch Twitch I can see there's definitely a little struggle in the frame rate. I am running the processor stock under an AIO water cooler. Perhaps it was my mistake for not getting a quad core for that build but I was try to save a few dollars. If you're looking for regular 1080p TV viewing as aren't incredibly anal or nitpicky about your video then this will be just fine.My second purchase was for a crypto-currency mining rig. For this build the processor was only purchased because I need a processor. It literally sits at idle 100% of the time. For this I am happy and for the price you can't beat it.This processor DOES come with a cooler. For idle speeds it's fine, but of course if you intend to actually use the processor whether it's encoding or really, really light gaming, I'd recommend investing in something a little more robust as far as cooling is concerned.

Perfect for Linux or chrome
Can't beat it for the price. If all you need is essentially a "chrome book" type of usage, just using chrome browser and other lightweight programs, this thing meets all those needs perfectly. Im using Linux solus OS because it's free and it's really lightweight making this celeron feel very snappy and fast. I was worried this would feel laggy or slow but that really isn't the case at all, I'm really glad I didn't bother spending the extra $20 or so for a pentium, although if u need the power the pentium is a great performer for the money.

Perfect budget CPU
This processor was exactly what I needed for a computer refresh I was doing for my Grandma. Her old Core2 Duo computer was slowing down so I purchased this Intel Processor to go with this Motherboard MSI Intel H81 LGA 1150 DDR3 USB 3.1 Micro ATX Motherboard (H81M-P33) The pairing worked perfectly and Grandma's computer has never worked better she could not be happier with the performance of her new computer. If you are doing a budget build for web browsing, netflix, youtube, word processing, etc... this processor will be perfect.

Works flawlessly.
Replaced a AMD 3850 apu mobo with this for only a $10 difference. Man it works so much better as a HTCP. 1080p and HD sound with just the cpu and motherboard. No need for a video card. Ubuntu 14.04 works great and the new Intel drivers took just seconds to install. I did a dual boot Ubuntu, Windows 7 install. Ubuntu took maybe less then 10 minutes including the Intel drivers. Window 7 at least 30. But this chip is has enough horse power to stream HBO GO, AMAZON and NETFLIX in HD without a problem.

nice little processor for the money
nice little processor for the money. hiccups a bit when streaming HD sometimes but i'm not sure if it's the processor's fault or the configuration I have it in (h81m mobo & 4GB ram & 5400RPM HDD), or that streaming 1080p to a 1080p screen might just be too much. Idk. but either way i most definitely cannot complain for the price i paid. it's a little champ.

Does what I wanted it to do
It's an okay processor. As far as dual-cores go, it works and does what I need it to do without breaking the bank. I wish the jump from dual-core to quad-core wasn't almost a $150 difference at a minimum, but I can't fault this product for that. For people who don't have heavy processing loads, this is a perfect alternative to the more expensive quads.

Bueno no excelente.
