What is the average shelf life of this product once opened?

mine is in the frig. still good 3-4 months later. my only complaint about this product is the bits of dried chili which should be stained out. provecho!

Is there cumin in this?

Can i use this instead of chipolte pepper adobo?

I don't know if I fully understand what you are asking or its context, but I hope this helps. Personally, I have used the Chipotle adobo sauce found in most grocery stores and have not liked the taste. This is a better product because it does not have additional flavor profiles. It's just Chipotle pepper processed into a paste. I use it to spice up chile soup or other Mexican dishes or mix it with olive oil or Caesar dressing to spice up roasted vegetables. I If you are trying simply trying to find a substitute sauce, I would not recommend it because this is a paste, not a sauce. But, if you are looking to add chipotle flavor to a dish then this is the way to go. you probably only use about a teaspoon of this stuff at a time depending on your personal taste. Hope that helps.

Tiny little jar packs a great big punch!

This stuff is deliciously smoky, with just the right amount of heat.The label says "knockout flavor", and they aren't kidding!And, there, are lots of great uses for Gran Luchito's unique paste:Mix it with ketchup to spread on top of meatloaf or to dip sweet potato fries.Mix it with mayo for an incredible sandwich or burger spread.Mix it with softened butter and rub it all over a whole chicken, then roast. Or rub on a pork shoulder, and cook it in the slow cooker before shredding.Thin slice a still slightly frozen steak and stir fry with peppers and onions, swirling this paste in with the oil.Notice how much we're mixing the chili paste with other ingredients?That's because it is a teeny, tiny little jar of the stuff. 3.5 ounces, in a jar just over 2 inches tall. Amazing product and great value!

I've used this in several recipes now and the taste is just amazing! A small amount goes a long way to add some smoky heat to your favorite recipes. Great flavor, smoky, hot, perfect for Mexican recipes!

I make homemade enchiladas often and the enchilada sauce calls for Chile paste. I have found a few but this one has the smoky Chipotle flavor along with heat! It is reasonably priced as well!
