this may seem like a typical farcical skewering of both the super-spy genre ...
At first, this may seem like a typical farcical skewering of both the super-spy genre and higher education; basically, the son of a stereotypical super-spy and a seduced evil femme fatale goes to college with his best friend/sidekick to get away from the family legacy and live a 'normal' life, only to find out that college life is anything but normal. That's how the story basically starts. If the story had stopped at that level of analysis, it wouldn't have been much of a story; it'd have its set of laughs, and be done. However, the author takes the time to explore some interesting questions that come as a result of this premise. What would happen to someone who'd been in that life if they tried to be 'normal'? What would happen to a 'normal' person who'd found themselves in this shadow world? How would someone who'd been in this life view the personalities that exist in college, both at the student level and faculty level, and how would they interact? Somehow, the author maintains this farcical feel, even as he adeptly analyzes questions such as these. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, one that provided plenty of laughs, but still provided food for thought.

It's a Chilord story.
A lot of his work feels the same from fanfiction to this, however the levity in his stories and the characters keep me coming back. This was a fun story though Brad himself bored the hell out of me, Darren was someone I'd love to read more about. As someone that followed Chilord's work for years, I feel I can confidently say this is one of his best stories, and it is a shame more won't be following.

Hilarious!
Although this is his first published novel, I have been following Mr. McCready's writing in the fanfiction community for several years now. The writing is what I have come to expect of him over the years, with fast, snappy, dialogue accompanied by narrative prose which is light on description and heavy on imagery. It is extremely easy to visualize the scenes in this book without getting bogged down by endless paragraphs describing every little detail. Very much Show don't Tell.As for the plot of this book, it is a near perfect inversion of the standard "Leaving home for College only to get involved with strange hijinks" comedy plotline, with the inversion coming from the fact that the Main character is going to college to get away from the strange hijinks that he has been surrounded by his whole life. Add Mr. McCready's finely tuned sense for the absurd, and you get a lighthearted romp that at leaves you giggling and begging for more.As a slight warning to readers, Sex is a major topic of discussion in this book, but there are no actual sex scenes, and only vague references to past encounters which are mostly left to the imagination.10/10 Will Recommend

It's a Conspiracy Theory that's not one.
A disturbingly good read of what's been happening to Western Civilization for the last 20+ years .. which leads to the disturbing conspiracy theory that the Author was knocked off via advanced colon cancer at *TWENTY-ONE* Years of age!!Oh, and the 'But I want to have a normal life' rebellion of the protagonist is hilarious since the closest clue he has to what that is/may be seems to be what he learned from TV and wishful thinking.

A Great Book, and hopfully start of series
At first I just got it to read on Kindle Unlimited as I was not sure how this story would play out. After having finished reading it I decided that this was definitely worth a buy as it left me hoping that this book will turn into a series as it looks to be a fun world to see our main characters run through.

Brilliant! Original! Worth the read
The plot is straight and direct, not wasting time with non-sense. The characters are realistic and personable. You can envision the story truly happening.... Who knows, maybe .... classified. Worth read again and again Great humor and interest.

A truly unique story
A great story and a most read for anyone who wanted an idea of what it would be like to be both the child of Jame Bond and still try to have a normal life...and then fail at badly.
