Unstable under pressure or walking movement.
The concept of the cushions does not deliver in practice. Gel wiggles & moves under the weight of the foot and movement with walking. Definitely for flats only. Tried to use with heels & the pads moved so much it made footing unstable & therefore potentially dangerous.

Product arrived quickly and worked beautifully.
After foot surgery, I have struggled with metatarsalgia and significant pain regardless of what shoes I wear. I found these metatarsal pads much better than others I have tried because of how slim they fit. The sleek, unobtrusive design relieves my discomfort without making shoes overly tight when wearing them. Easy to wash and easy to use.

I've never spent more time trying to get my socks on.
I thought the concept was good: Gel cushioning, a loop for the toe, and cuff over the top of the foot to hold it in place. But, it didn't work for me. Just putting on socks (and I tried a few different and thicknesses and materials) took forever, because the gel would get bunched up, curl on the sides and move off center. Then, once I got the thing on, after half an hour of walking on it, it would increasingly bunch up and even fold under itself. It felt like walking with a rock in my shoe, which certainly has not helped my foot pain. These pads seem to work for a lot of people, but I'm discontinuing use and will be trying another product.

Nice product, works well
I am surprised this metatarsal pad does not have a higher rating. I wore it (inside my sock) for 1 1/2 hours to a line dance class and had no problems. I also only used one on the right foot-- the other foot is fine - and felt no discrepancy. You get four pads and it is thin. I wear toe socks and this fit neatly within my sock and has no obstruction onto the toes as some of the other pads do. I have a "B" width foot -- I could see that if one had a wider foot this could be an issue, but I think this would be true of all these types of pads. Also, I did wear these in totally flat shoes.

Need to buy a few more pairs.
Impressed with these pads. The balls of my feet are very tender (getting old) but these little pads do the trick. Easy to wear not very visible, they feel a little squishy when I walk but at least I can walk far more comfortably than before. They are washable but I don’t think they will be very long lasting as the plastic is soft and gel like. But I will definitely buy a few more pairs. They deliver the comfort they promise.

Comfy but slide backwards after all day use
I have a pair of short boots I love but after a day of walking or standing the balls of my feet kill so I thought I would try these out. They fit well and are comfy but don't stay in place all day. I even started wearing them forward a bit under my toes but they still were stretched towards the middle of my foot by the end of the day. I will still use them but the search for a better product continues.

i don't use them on metatarels.
my mom has a severe bunion due to an amputation of the third toe which has eliminated the arch on her foot. she tends to get wounds on that part of her foot alot and they can be painful. we have found gel matatarsule pads helpful. i picked these because of the honeycomb cut out because the pattern tends to absorb sock better then just gel. i cut off the straps and warp it in the gauze when i do her foot. they work fine for our use.

Does not stay in plae
This item sounds and looks great, but when you slide your sock over it, the problems begin. The gel pad will get all mushed up and you will spend 20 minutes trying to get it flat while picking and pulling at your sock. Total failure. who has 10 minutes to pick and pull at their sock trying to get the gel pad to sit flat for each foot? Total failure. if you try to wear it over your sock, it is even worse. Goodness gracious. This item must be for people who do not wear socks. I will be returning these immediately! Hopefully someone from customer service reads these.
