No electric noise at all!
I was looking mostly for a fan without ANY noise for our bedroom. I tried a WhisperQuiet t chnokogy one and the motor still hummer. I bought this because it was the cheapest and quickest delivery DC motor fan on amazon (or anywhere for that matter). This fan has zero motor noise. And I have good hearing and don’t say this lightly. Zero! There is wind and blade noise starting at level 3. Below that it is totally quiet and moves already plenty of air. Very happy and I sleep well!I totally agree with other reviewers tht it’s easier to mount than any other fan I have ever hung. Mostly because you don’t have to screw the fan blades in upside down. The fan blades get attached to the rod and then the rod attached to rotor with 3 set screws. The bracket has a hook to hang the motor while tightening the for nuts. The design is cool ... or a little funky, depending on what you like. Seeing a 2 bladed fan takes getting used to but overall it’s very pretty.I was tempted to give it 4 stars simply because of there not being a wall switch and reports that the remote is hard, if not impossible, to replace. But so far it all works great! Love it! Would buy it again. DC technology is worth the extra cost.

Not Impressed with this Fan so Far
The first one of these I ordered had a bent shaft. Amazon happily replaced it with another one, and that was that. Satisfied customer, great customer service, what I've come to expect from Amazon. They quickly sent me another fan, which just quit two weeks after installation. No warning, no issue, just stopped working. That's very disappointing since I really like this fan and when it was working it moved a lot of air. It was perfect aesthetically and practically for the room it was in. Now I have to make the decision of whether to try a third one of these or find a different fan.

Beautiful put temperamental
We had this fan installed in October 2017 by a reputable electrician we have used in the past. Living in the Chicago area, there is not much use for a fan in a bedroom in the winter, but the few times it was used it was wonderful.Forward to May 1 2018: fan was turned on when we thankfully got a warm day. It ran fine for about 10 minutes and just quit running. I had read reviews about those that had this fan just stop working. It sounded strange and I was sure it wouldn’t happen to me. Wrong. Not one to give up easily, I called Westinghouse Customer Service. I waited only a minute or two before I was helped. The representative was very nice and knew immediately what my complaint was. Whatever type of motor this fan has, can’t recall the name, there appears to be a glitch. The power needs to be turned off at the fuse box, turned on, and the fan reset with the remote within 60 seconds. My husband turned it off and then on. I was in the bedroom with the remote ready to reset. It worked like a charm and all is well again.Customer Service will email you how to do this. It’s a beautiful fan with excellent air flow. Now I know how to reset it, I am OK with it. Also, it is not a fan for lower ceilings as it hangs a bit low. Amazon had a great price.I hope those that had the fan quit working will read this. It’s a simple and easy reset fix. I gave it 4 stars due to this little quirk.**August 14, 2018 update. Ever since the Reset mentioned above, the fan worked beautifully. I woke up several days ago and it had quit working during the night. Weird. Anyway, I just did the Reset thing again and it’s once again fine. I truly love it. I wish they could fix this issue, but I can live with a 2 minute Reset now and then. Also, I was told the power needed to be turned off at the circuit breaker, but it resets fine just turing it off at the switch.

Love it BUT
Looks great, is quiet and smooth. BUT because of a remote issue haven't really used it a lot yet. So, the fan worked right when installed. One day it worked and the next no response to the remote. Called Westinghouse - on hold for maybe 15 minutes - and they really just gathered the info they needed to send us a new remote (seems this is a complaint they are familiar with - bought ours August 2015). The new remote arrived and still the fan didn't work. After days of ignoring the problem (albeit very unhappy with having no working ceiling fan) as I sat down to call them --- DUH - let's check the user manual. Couldn't find ours (the installer tends to toss everything). Found it easily online -- and found out about how to use the reset button. 1) power off the fan 2) power on the fan (used the wall switch we have for it) then 3) press the RESET button inside the remote. Nothing seemed to happen BUT I did notice the fan seemed to quiver a bit. So I repeated the process. AND it's now working. (Will update if problems crop up.)

Cool fan, uncool dimensions.
I loved this fan. Alas, had to return it because it hangs SO LOW! Seriously, this fan will only work if your ceilings are at least 10 feet, otherwise you risk decapitating the tall people in your life.

It stopped working after the First Two Weeks of Usage ...
It stopped working after the First Two Weeks of Usage ... I simply returned rather than calling customer support to fix it.

My favorite fan
This is by far one of my favorite fans and have now purchased three of them. This fan has great airflow (which is very necessary when we lived in Texas) and is aesthetically pleasing. The only issue we have had (to address those who said their fan quit working) ... sometimes the fan and remote will quit syncing. To resolve this issue-Turn off light switch, remove battery from remote for a few seconds, reinstall same battery, flip light switch back on and then Press and hold the set button on the back of the remote until the fan begins to move. It will rotate backwards and re program itself ( takes 1 minute or so) . Let this process finish before using remote.
