Don’t buy
These are the worst reeds I’ve ever purchased. They do not hold the scent and worse than that, when unwrapping box the individual reeds have a horrible chemical smell. So, not only do they not absorb oil, the oil they are able to absorb is competing with this awful smell.

Great for use with essential oils
I bought these sticks for my 14 year old daughter. She loves scented products and wanted her room to smell nice. I don't like perfumed products because they are linked to common health problems, including cancer. Google it, there are plenty of articles out there to make one suspicious at least. These sticks are perfect because I am able to use essential oils, which smell great, and are healthy. We put them in a small, pretty vase and put in lavender oil and her room smelled great within a few hours.

HORRIBLE
How did this product get any stars?! It’s like I actually purchased broken sticks resembling dried up weeds for absolutely no reason. It serves no purpose! I am on day 2 and I don’t smell anything. Extremely disappointed!

These work
I have a couple in "essential oil" and they disperse a pleasant odor from the oil. Directions call for replacing them every 20 days. Haven't gotten there yet. To get an immediate effect, put them in oil for a bit then turn them over. That avoids having to wait 2 or 3 days for the oil to seep up from the bottom.

Returned
These reeds had a very strong chemical odor. I set them outside for several days but it was still noticeable. Returned.

Frayed and janky
These suck. They are all frayed with little bits of straw coming off them. They are also all jagged at the ends like someone drunkenly cut them up with a pair of scissors. Not only that, but they barely emit any of my oil. I guess diffuser sticks are expensive for a reason, it takes good quality for them to work and look nice.

Useless, zero scent(black ones)
Totally USELESS. i have the Pier one read diffuser, when they got saturated i decided to give these a try, i put 10 in each jar as i do with the original one from pier1 .. a BIG ZERO star if i could use this rating! .. not working at all, no scent although i followed the tips in the box. definitely not recommended

Exactly as described
I used the product as a diffuser. I inserted them in a small mouthed vase and added an essential oil mixture. I was a bit disappointed that the smell did not fill the room but I was told it was probably because I used all natural ingredients and should probably use much more oil...I am going to try that.
