In accurate, must keep readjusting, not only will I not but again I am selling all my hornady equipment, inaccurate at best

Have used the Hornady Microadjust seating stem for several years now. Makes it much easier to adjust each bullets seating depth based on the design of the bullet / grs etc. power type and mfgs. recommend overall COL.

If you have several sets of Hornady dies, or load different bullets per caliber like I do, this is the best VALUE tool And timesaver. Right now I have one micro adjust to easily swap between 3 die sets without any tools.You can get by without it, but for dialing in the last few thousandths these definitely beat just doing trial and error. Even if you’re new to handloading, you’ll be able to figure this out easily. Well worth the money. And since they’re so inexpensive, I’ll be buying more over time. And it’s also like I’ll only buy Hornady rifle dies from now on because of the way this integrated into the system. The Hornady die boxes also are molded so that your seating did will fit with the stem attached.

With this tool in my Hornady seating die I now can properly seat bullets accurately using the micrometer on the tool. I simply set the bullet to "jamb" and back off how many thousands of an inch i want. it makes a complex job simple.

Works well but unfortunately there some issues with the micrometer barrel that detract from an otherwise useful product, none of which affect its function.The barrel is not as smoothly machined as you would expect, but that can be seen in the photographs. Also the barrel attachment to the stem does not square up the barrel precisely. The plating is extremely thin and within six months in the garage in the box, fine streaks of rust have appeared along the machining grooves. I should have kept it better oiled, but I have numerous dies from different manufactures stored along side that have never suffered any corrosion in two decades with minimal care.If you want a cost effective product and the the convenience of converting existing Hornady seating dies to micrometer seating dies this is the way to go regardless of the cosmetic barrel issues.

I like this seating stem. It seams to be more consistent than my previous bullet seaters. It is easy to setup and use to adjust setting depth.My main use for this seating stem is to set the depth on Barnes bullets as they are picky about the distance of the jump to the rifling lands.I use it to set seating depth on a Hornady bullet seating die. I am careful not to crimp the bullet with the die. If I want a crimp I use a Lee Factory Crimp die in a separate step.I setup the seating die depth so that I can read and set the stem directly as the fractional part of the overall cartridge length (O.C.L.).I measure the O.C.L. with a micrometer. I set the seating stem to the fractional length from the micrometer. I adjust my seating die down until it meets the bullet of the measured cartridge. After which I can set my new seating depth directly on the stem.

Very accurate if used properly, I read a review written by "Jennifer" who obviously doesn't know how this die works. This micrometer adjustment tool sits for on top of the flat part of the Seating Stem, which Hornady makes a multitude of for their different lines of bullets AMax, VMax, ELD-X, ELD-M etc, etc. So if you use the proper seating stem with this you'll receive incredibly accurate ammunition. After I tried this I am currently converting all my RCBS starting Dies to this system and the cool part, I can use the same micro-adjust too on all the seating dies. Don't get me wrong I'm in no way abandoning my RCBS carbide sizing dies just to the simple and very accurate Hornady micro-just seating system.
