Good for tick repellent
I’m sure others have different uses for it, I used it for a science-based tick repellent; a robust study found that thyme, citronella and clove are the most effective essential oils against ticks. I made a mixture of 95% liquid coconut oil, 2% citronella, 2% thyme and 1% clove, and was one of the few people I spoke with who didn’t get any ticks attached at a 4-night music/camping festival. I found the smell pleasant, your mileage may vary. It did all I asked of it so I’m pleased, found this to be reasonably priced with good reviews.

Smells nice not as strong as expected
Nice pine smell, not christmas tree. Good essential oil if you want an earthy scent in a diffuser.

Eight month use review ...
I'm using this to repel Roaches.Previously, 60 days after an exterminator roaches know it's safe, come back and set up shop again. They eat most anything. Wooden picture frames. Each other - cadavers to newborns. Impossible to defeat them by 'food denial' tactics, I had to dump my rattan furniture ... and while synthetic, chemicals are a part of the solution, I minimize use - preferring more natural means. This Lemon Oil's is a big part of my solution.I use drops in drawers, cabinets, on cutting board's bottom, AC receptacles - roaches' main entry pathway - and anywhere I see any traces. An effective repellent (I physically verified), roaches hate the smell and will not go across it unless driven by fear.I also put a 'roach death-zone' on my baseboards behind stove, etc.I haven't seen a juvenile roach in 8 months. Just the occasional REALLY big adults (travelers) moving slowly (obviously dying) from Borax contact and Dematiaceous Earth cuts they got hiding on the baseboards (Place next door must be infested again).Incoming roaches go to the baseboards, a 100% death trap.I can vouch for this Lemon oil. It works and last for (min of) several days. No residue, seems pure. I've used about 1/2 the bottle.I can't stand incense smells - none - but this LO's odor is quite pleasant.Chemical perfumes, even in soap irritate my skin. A lot of soaps, perfumes drive me nuts with itching. This LO directly on my skin produced no negative reaction. So I took the time to tell you and I hope it helps.

Not Sweet Smelling
I purchased this essential oil to make candles that smell like God's anointing oil as described in Exodus 30. The Bible uses the words "sweet calamus." This never smelled sweet. It went bad before it's expiration date, and now smells like a wet dog. In all fairness, I do not know what calamus is supposed to smell like. When newer, the oil held its smell well in homemade soy candles.
