Overheats the back quater of the oven where the instant-on element is.
The quick-heat-flash element is the upper back corner of the toaster so that area cooks too fast. Turning a pizza often proved futile because the outside edge was what was toasted by the element, not the middle so Pizza cooking is out unless you have a skinny but long pizza like a big hogie.

Very, Very Satisfied
This toaster oven wasn't particularly easy to find, but I wanted the infrared quick heat feature and the Panasonic name. I also thought the convection feature would be useful. I am not the least bit disappointed in any aspect. It looks clean and modern, heats in a flash, intuitive controls and love the slide out crumb tray for cleaning. Five Stars!

This countertop oven makes great toast and more...
I use it everyday to make toast. Find myself using it as an oven/broiler everyday too. Infrared is the way to go!

Panasonic is the way
I bought this after my FlashXpress toaster of almost 10 years had a broken power button. So far it shows the same quality and reliability of its smaller brother!

Exterior gets extremely hot for a toaster oven. "Toasting" bread is a 5 step process (a pain)
Not sure why Panasonic markets this toaster the way it does. They were drastically marked down when made the purchase so possibly this model is making a speedy exit. As reference in the headline, the exterior gets extremely hot.So hot that it makes me nervous. Our Cuisinart never got this hot. The deal breaker for me is the 5 step process for toast. Life should not be this complicated. Household guests should not have to read the manual to toast a slice of bread. The "tong" for the adjustable shelf rack should be integrated into the toaster over. You "do" need to use it, less you be burned by the oven's extremely hot exterior when trying to reach for your toast. This is not a teen friendly appliance. Here's the rest of the description:Pre-set settings include Toast, Bagel, Pizza, Roast, Bake, Broil, Keep Warm. Powerful infrared heat element pulses on and off during cooking to insure a perfectly browned, crispy finish without burning. One-touch function buttons, quick-dial control and easy-read display. Adjustable pull-out cooking rack with safety tong. Removable crumb and baking trays Easy-grip handle fully supports door when open. Minimal footprint fits neatly on kitchen counter-tops With Panasonic's compact 1750 Watt NB-W250S High Speed Toaster Oven, there's no need to preheat before you cook. Just place your food in the oven and press Start to generate instant heat with double infrared elements on the top of the oven's 0.9 cu.ft. interior cavity and double metal heating on the bottom. In minutes food is done — up to 35% faster* — hot and evenly cooked. Seven pre-set menus — Toast, Bagel, Pizza, Roast, Bake, Broil— make cooking effortless, and a keep warm setting keeps food warm until ready to serve. One-touch function buttons include a button for convection heating, and a quick-dial control and easy-read display make operation simple. The oven also includes an adjustable pull-out cooking rack and safety tong, plus removable crumb and baking trays. The NB-W250S has a sleek, stainless-steel finish to complement any kitchen decor, and its minimal footprint fits neatly on any kitchen counter top

Not worth the time or money
I wanted to like this toaster oven, but can't really. So it's — tolerated.First: the instructions are not at all intuitive. It's as though every third sentence of the instructions was remove, leaving you to guess what it means. The step by step is written more as an over view that actual instructions.Second: the construction is very cheap, not what I'd expect from a Panasonic product. This is more General Electric or similar. Youou never forget this is a toaster oven. The buttons are OK – just. The temperature knob has an extremely cheap feel to it, very light and ratchety. It doesn't inspire durability or longevity.Third: I believe this unit is defective. There are beeps, barely audible for control setting feed back. That's fine. But there's supposed to be a beep when the PREHEAT function reaches temperature, and there's none. Without the beep, you don't get to the oven to press the START button, and after one minute, the oven turn off - OK - and all settings are scrubbed and you have to start from scratch - BAD.The beep is also absent at the end of the cooking cycle. I have to set an external timer to remove the food from the oven.Fourth: set up for any function is more involved than it needs to be. The AUTO functions need more button pressing and knob twirling than they should. Maybe that's the price you pay for the price you pay. I won't be cooking toast in this as a toaser is far more convenient and efficient. This thing is too bulky to try sending back. It works after a fashion, and cooks things I'd rather not put in a microwave. So I'll keep it until it dies. If I get a year out of it, I'll call it even. Really, it **should** last much longer but confidence is not high.Amazon doesn't sell it any more, which is a good thing. Do NOT try finding this unless you can get a steal deal. It's not worth the fiddliness.
