I finally have 'hair'. It used to always be thin and non-discript. Now I feel like my hair is sooo much better.

Yeah, this has mineral oil in it, which is supposed to clog hair follicles. I can't explain why, but in spite of the bad mineral oil -- it still worked for me. This ancient formula oil cured a nasty, embarrassing 10-year case of seborrheic dermatitis that nizoral containing shampoos couldn't conquer.I suffered with flakes thanks to relaxers; however, even after stopping chemicals, the dermatitis persisted. I massaged this oil into my scalp daily, and bye! bye! flakes. Not promising this oil will do wonders for you, but it can. The price here, though is a little steep. There are other sites that sell this effective oil for much less.Another drawback? It has a strong, medicinal herbal smell, which may be a turn off for some. Use it at night, and it fades before morning.Edited to Add: There is another use for this really great oil. I recommended this oil to a friend with traction alopecia. When they used this oil (along with daily massages) baby hairs have started appearing in the area where no hair had grown for years. This is not a substitute for medical advice, but it is an alternative treatment for this oil, that could also work, if used.INGREDIENTS: (contains mineral oil), extract of maka (bhringaraj), hansraj, gunja, patola, curry leaf, indrayan, bawachi & other herbs and natural oils like avocado, almond, coconut, sweet basil, german chamomile and thyme.There is another version of Mahabhringaraj oil which only pure coconut oil instead of mineral oil. It will probably work just as well.

Smells really bad. I tried to sleep with it in and woke up because of the smell.

As a 48-year-old black woman with too much stress I thought my balding temples was because of my thyroid so I applied this product (expired long ago but I don’t care). My balding patches are growing thicker and I feel less insecure about scalp showing because it’s getting full of Afro textured hair. I like the exotic smell because it smells like herbs that you might eat at an Indian restaurant but I don’t know the names. My kittens like the smell too and climb behind my ponytail to play with my hair so it can’t be too bad. It completely absorbs into my hair and scalp after a couple days. But I always accidentally over apply because I use it with Infusium 23 to detangle my Afro textured hair and it works wonders. I’m thinking of buying an oil applicator bottle to drip it out more carefully so it doesn’t run into my eyes and down my neck while I’m at work. But that’s my fault because I can’t see how much I’m applying.It’s such great quality that when it accidentally gets in my eyebrows and eeyes it burns, but I get it out quickly. My eyelashes grew thicker too. I had tried to use an eyelash curler decades ago and thought I was supposed to pull and that’s how they got sparse patches. My eyebrows were thin due to plucking and old age.If I stop using it, hairs fall out within a few weeks. So I’m going to buy more. Thank you makers and distributors!It leaves my chemically straightened hair super shiny and healthy.

I cannot lie, my hair seemed to LOVE this oil. I was just crushed when I found out that it had mineral oil in it. I swear I didn't see that anywhere on the box or the bottle. I got over the "medicinal" smell b/c it worked well with the White Camellia cond't by Aubrey Organics that I co-wash with. My hair was super shiny and supple for 2-3 days after using this product. Sadly, I should have know it was the devil (mineral oil) in a bottle b/c no matter how much oil I added to it later in the week, my hair did tend to feel dry. Also, my hair seems to shed even less now that I'm not using it-- but that could be because of my renewed patience when detangling in the shower.I was disappointed that my local Indian grocer no longer had it in stock (they sold it for cheaper than on here). Anyhoo, I will more than likely purchase this oil again in the summer, as I plan to do wash and gos with regularity. I'm seriously considering giving the other coconut-based oil mentioned on here a try, however. Although, 12 bucks seems like a lot of cash for some hair oil... "/ we'll see.

Excellent product!

I've been using this product for a little over 3 weeks now and I can definitely see some results already. I will most definitely order it again.
