Excellent Soundbar, great features.
I went back and forth with a number of soundbars - checking reviews, features, price, ease of use etc., and settled on this one. It has great sound and even on less than half max volume it is very substantial in creating a rumble effect. Sound travels to the room underneath on volume setting 14 but transfers as a low bass (the subwoofer is on the floor though) however it doesn't penetrate horizontally to 2 rooms away (1 room away it does but fortunately that is unoccupied) We had it at full volume (32) for about 5 secs before deciding it was probably not wise if we intended to require windows that were not blown out. (it's very loud)This is in my son's bedroom and I work nights so sleep during the day and if he has it on a volume setting up to 15 I have no clue it is even on. Does not disturb me with the advantage of having a room between us. He is very impressed with it. His new favourite toy he says. He's a baker and he says he reckons even with the noise of mixers, ovens and associated machinery in the bakery the sound bar would cut through that and drown them out. Unfortunately his boss won't let him test that theory.Above volume 15 and in the room below his you can make out lyrics from music but also with a TV on in the room below it again just becomes a background bass-y rumble that fades into the background once you get immersed in the TV you are watching.I have read reviews about the scrolling text being distracting even on the dimmed setting. I asked my son about this - his first response 'What scrolling text?' then after watching the display he said 'That reviewer needs to stop being so easily distracted' He says if you are concentrating on what you are watching or playing it doesn't distract you, you have to actively look down at the soundbar. It could also possibly be a placement issue with the reviewer. My son has it below the TV but it is also wall mountable and comes with some fittings. It did take a few goes to get it connected and even now 11 days later neither me or my son are quite sure how we got it working as we thought we'd tried every combination and we still couldn't do it but then suddenly it came to life. I'm quite willing to accept unknown forces played a part, magic is real!We have it connected through HDMI(ARC) - not gonna lie had to google that, didn't have a clue. Check your TV has a HDMI port with ARC support for this. It will say ARC in brackets next to one of the HDMI ports on your TV. However, I believe it can also connect through regular HDMI.Price is very reasonable and being able to get it on monthly payments through Amazon made the price easier to handle. One very impressed gadget-loving-console-playing son on his 23rd birthday and one happy mum to have monthly payments with a son's birthday 20 days before Christmas.

Great sound.
Bought this for my Philips 50 in ambilight tele after much deliberation. Few reviews to go by as it was a new product. Got it for 250 in Black Friday Amazon sale and i am delighted with it. Very easy set up with clear instructions and used supplied hdmi-virtually plug and play. A gew minor niggles-a delay of approx 5 seconds for sound to kick in when using the arc connection-also it would have been nice to have on screen display rather than just the basic info on the soundbar led display. Absolutely delighted with the main thing ie sound quality. Very clear dialogue on freeview hd and netflix, prime youtube. Great for music vids on youtube with meaty and atmospheric base for films. Still only a few films displayed as atmos but i was informed by john lewis salesperson that you wont get atmos unless the source of the broadcast(tele in my case) is programmed for it. He said the newer high end tele's are but i could still use my tele 'daisychain' the soundbar via a receiver or bluray player that is atmos ready to get the effect. That said, i am very happy with the sound quality i currently get and i think it is well worth the money. Meant to add that it looks good and seems a solid piece of equipment and that i use it for music streaming via bluetooth that works perfectly.

Exceeds expectations
Bought a Philips 65 inch 4K tv and (as usual) the sound system on the tv was underwhelming. So took a punt on buying the Philips sound bar since I hoped it would compliment and work well with the Philips tv. I have not been disappointed, looks good, sounds great and works seamlessly I.e. overrides the television sound, comes on/off with tv and reacts to all remote requests volume/mute etc. I have the Apple TV 4K box ... so can now stream 4K content from iTunes, Netflix, amazon prime etc. The 4K picture is great and now the sound bar (handles Dolby 5.1 and Dolby atmos) matches. The trick to getting the sound bar to handle the heavy bandwidth required for Dolby atmos is to plug the Apple TV 4K straight into the back of the sound bar (via high speed hdmi cable I.e. used belkin cable) ... this has worked a treat and I now have great looking picture and sound to match. You have to balance bass and treble to your own preference but that’s minor adjustments via supplied remote. In summary, extremely happy with this sound bar in terms of performance and price. Recommend.

Brilliant value for money
Excellent product. Very easy to set up. Works on all devices connected to tv due to having a thru hdmi. Not the best quality sound bar available until you factor in the price. At which point, nothing else I’ve heard in that price range comes even close. Gorgeous rich bass, lush middle, beautiful clear treble out of the box. Until I get a new tv stand it’s slightly obstructed but still manages to bounce sound around the room. I don’t miss my older 5 speaker system at all

Philips Sound bar TV PB603 Works well with a projector
First the bad. Base is pretty week and the self shutdown when left quiet for a few mins is a pain. Now the good. Loud, I've got this in a cinema room that's double boarded with a green glue filling 100mm cavity, 75mm Kingspan with a brick wall and I can just hear it on level 5 outside. Running it with a BenQ TK800M Projector and LG 4K Blu-ray. No lag or sound out of sink issues. The screen is permanently lit but on it's dimmest setting Isn't a real issue for me. A backlit remote would be nice. I'm sure there's better for cheaper but it was the Atmos that tipped the scales for me

Very good! Good sound
Bass is immense and makes the room shake.Only normally have to have it on volume 05-06 and that is loud enough, prior was having the TV on like 30+! This was the main reason for the soundbar, as the TV sound was rubbish
