Love the idea but Made me ill.
So i guess these are supposed to be refrigereated. Wouldnt be an issue but what i wasnt told was they would take a month to reach me. A month in transit!! When i got them they seemed okay so i cooked them up. Instantly ill. Turns out they must be kept cold and they went bad during transport. I know that flub is on me but i would have appreciated the heads up about the amount of time vs the ‘will arrive as early as tuesday-next month’and also ‘keep in cool place’

Love these rice cakes BUT they are not the same as what most Americans consider rice cakes
After learning to make a few Korean dishes with Blue Apron, I purchased some of the ingredients as additions to our pantry. Unfortunately, these rice cakes were unusually difficult to find. I turned to Amazon and there they were. Be mindful that these rice cakes are not the same as what most Americans consider to be rice cakes (puffy round snacks). These should be rehydrated in liquid and it is sometimes better to prep them separately before adding into soup, stir fry, etc. For us, these serve as a rice or pasta substitute or to add more bulk to soups and/or stir fry and other asian-style dishes.

Definitely Chewy
I ordered Feb 17th and received my order on March 26th. Not complaining just putting it out there for others to know it will take a while. The bag is small and I got 21 toppoki’s inside the bag. I Purchased sauce that I made with my rice cakes that was spicy and had a sweet scent to it. I rinsed them and put them in a pot with a cup of water and let them boil, then added the sauce and let that boil for 2 min then added the ramen. I have wanted to try toppoki for the longest time and I finally made them and I have to say the texture is not for me and the sauce didn’t help. The more I chewed on it the more I felt like I was chewing on raw dough. The only way I will ever try them again is if I taste authentic ones, only then will I be able to give my final verdict. I am glad I finally got to try them and got to cross them off of my crave list.

Delicious but probably wouldn’t order again
These rice cakes tasted great! I was worried that they were going to go bad because they were in transit for so long however they ended up being totally fine. I rinsed them in a bowl of water for about 10 minutes, more or less, before boiling them in water to cook. I added some ramen with it as well and it was just what i was looking for. I want to find a Korean market near by because the price, quantity, and innconvenince of waiting a month for them to arrive is not worth it!

Great Buy
The product came right on time; and it went great with my first time cooking Tteokbokki.

These don't need refrigeration. I've ordered 4 times.
These are dried. They don't need refrigeration so don't be concerned about delivery time. I really feel that the way they would become moldy would be if there was a small, undetected hole in the package which allowed moisture to get in. I've order these 4 times (around 40 packages) with varied results in shipping time (3 times they took a month to arrive and one time they were here in 3 days. I have no idea what that's about!) but not one package was spoiled. After arrival, I keep them on a shelf until needed. I've no no problems with quality whatsoever.I don't have anything to compare these to since these are the only Korean rice cakes I've ever had but I have come to love and crave them. My favorite way is the most traditional - made into Tteokbokki. I order the Samyung Buldak Sauce, spicy (this is the same sauce as used in Samyung Ramen, Chicken flavor spicy. That's my very favorite Ramen with it's bigger, chewy noodles. So, I boil the rice cakes in salted water for around 10 minutes. Drain and add the Buldak sauce (as much as desired) and enjoy. I can't get enough of them. I really need to learn to make my own and freeze them since the shipping time for these can be a little excessive.

fabulous
For an American you would need to know what to expect. I've watched Korean-American women on Youtube cook with Korean and Japanese rice cakes so I knew they would be gooey and chewy. I boiled these with gochujong, miso and a little sugar. Wow! I wish I had known about these years ago! I suppose any Asian products like this come here on a boat in the same way, even if they are sold in a local international grocery.
