These light add the perfect touch behind our TV and bed frame. They are a great price too. I have them connected to my Google home, so I can control them through voice activation. Set up was easy. They stick firmly onto smooth surfaces (not sure about textured surfaces). Some of the colors (i.e. orange) seem off but it doesn't bother me. You have a bit of color customization in the app. FYI, the app has terrible reviews on Android. I'm not experiencing issues but it's good to note before purchasing. There's also a manual option to turn the lights on and change colors.

Great price for these LED lights. Very easy to set up, and can be controlled on your phone in the app. The adhesive strips on the lights are very good and stick onto any surface and stay there!! Great for indoors and can also be outdoors if needed. They have a lot of fun colors and themes that can be used and the quality is great! Would definitely recommend!

This product gets 5 stars. It takes a lot to get 5 stars from me. I HAVE to have some type of interaction with customer service in order to be considered for 5 stars. So 4 stars is the highest I give if I don't have any interaction with customer service.Here is why:First, the customer service of Govee is phenomenal. I contacted them for a QUESTION, not a problem. They were VERY responsive and responded to me individually, not with an automated response system.Second, the app UI is amazing and intuitive. It is super easy to use and pleasing to look at. In a world where every smart product has their own app that gums up your phone, this is one app you will be pleased to have. Especially if you intend to buy more than one strip or Govee product (which I intend to do).Third, the product is awesome. It is shipped and appears as advertised. I have no issues with the product, application, or operation.Fourth, the modes of the strips are awesome. The sound responsiveness comes from a mic in the control unit, so if you are getting this to have dancing lights then be aware that the distance the control unit is from the sound source matters.Here is what you should know: I have contacted customer support to ask a couple questions and this was the response (my words) The length of the strips can be shortened to fit your application, but you CANNOT lengthen any strips because it may effect voltage and operation of the lights. There are no "unlighted" extension kits for strips so what you buy is what you get (unless you cut them shorter). You will need an outlet for every strip that you need. So it can get a little difficult hiding power cords if you intend to plug in a lot. The potential for this product is awesome and the value for a comparable product (looking at you, Phillips) is well worth it. I am very product loyal and I have may Hue lights, but I will be using Govee for my smart strip-light needs.Translation: buy the strip closest to the length that you need (going a little longer) because you can shorten but you can't lengthen. For larger applications you will buy several strips and plug them all in individually. But don't let the pictures fool you. Here is why. All the pictures depict wonderful multi light system with different colors showing on the same strip (although this is possible with some models) with NO POWER CORDS SHOWING. Keep in mind, these photos are intended to REPRESENT the POSSIBLE application of the strips. I do not believe they are the ACTUAL products being used. They are a relatively accurate representation of lighting, but not of application, aesthetics, intensity, or operation. Look, I'm not trying to be ambiguous. I love this product. However, it will take me a long time and a lot of money to get the effect and lighting that I want, because the strips are not modular.

I have a few qualms with the product, leading up to my four star review.1. It wasn’t what I expected. The product is listed as 65 ft of LED. So naturally I expected it to be one roll, but instead it was two. That would have been okay, except both strips are connected from power strip, and not able to connect and extend from each other.[💡-🔌-💡not 💡+ 💡🔌] Thus is was a bit harder to work with than anticipated. Next, I had previously had LED strips with a plastic covering over the LED that felt like silicone. It gave the lights a nice blend and blur. Naturally I had expected “well if I’m paying 60$ for LED surely they have to be the same quality of better.” Unfortunately they are more like if I had removed the clear silicone buffer from the last LED and stuck the raw light strip on the wall. If these were my only issues, I might’ve given the LED 5 star because these are solely my expectations falling flat (but wait, there’s more).2. My biggest issue is that the compatible Govee app for the lights to change color is not consistent. For one, I signed into the app and I was able to confirm the lights functioned. The second time I went into the app later, it had a difficult time connecting DESPITE me sitting directly next to the light hub. This was really irritating, though I believe the issue was due to WiFi (which is recommended to support the Bluetooth use but should not need to be necessary, nor should I need to fill out the WiFi name and password in the app, it should’ve been coded so that it could pull WiFi from the phone like any other app). My next issue had to be with the DIY aspect (first world problem I know), but there is a page in the app that you can create your own blend or flashy color pattern. This area feels as if it’s lacking because when I make a red and burnt orange fade, it turns into a red pink white orange yellow fade with a harsh reset back to red; thus making this supposed to be neat feature useless unless I intend to expand my color range or do a strobe effect instead. I think if they spent a little more time trying to perfect the light controls rather then create an in app social media platform alongside it, the app could be astronomically better. (That said I would recommend also reading the Govee Home light app reviews before purchasing if you are on the fence about this purchase to see if it is right for you). Additionally in order to use the Alexa function, you have to connect it to your Amazon account through the Govee Home app, or use a smart plug.Though this is not to say this was a total waste of my money. The lights work quite well, and I was able to make them fit to the room as I had needed. Unlike with cheaper models of LED like the last set I had, with the app I am able to dim the lights from a range of 1-100% rather then 5-10 dimmable options. I am also able to choose any variety of color easily with a color wheel (or even a “mood wheel” or color pallet). There are even a few preset “scenic” options that are not available for cheaper LED brands.All in all, it wasn’t what I had expected, I wish it was better for the money paid, but it’s still a good product.
