Nice radio!
I just got this radio today, and so far I'm really impressed! Its light weight, but seems pretty solid. Tuning in a station is pretty easy, and there seems to be pretty good separation between nearby stations. It also seems to pick up weaker signals pretty well, especially on the AM band.Sound quality is good, especially for talk radio, with good clarity. However, if you are expecting premium sound for music listening, you might want to consider a stereo " boom box" instead. This radio produces a decent sound for music, but it's a little weak on the bass side. A larger speaker (or 2!) would be a better choice if you really want a better music listening experience. However, the sound is still very clear and pleasant, if a bit thin in the bass. After listening to various programs for about 5 hours or so today, I can honestly say I'm quite happy with my purchase. Time will tell if I'll continue to be satisfied, but aside from some unexpected failure, I think I'll be happy with this radio for a long time!

Good design, decent sound
I bought this "Jazmm" radio for my father who lives in a nursing home. What I like most about it is that it is sensibly designed and easy to operate. Every function has a separate easy to access switch or knob that is easy to use. You don't have to figure it out. I also have a Panasonic radio - the TF-2400D, which is a great radio but the on and off switch which doubles as an FM/AM switch on it is not easy to set requiring precise pressure. The Jazmm is better in this respect. The sound quality and reception is pretty good. The radio has a tone control and I usually keep it on the high setting which seems to be better for voices and news programs. It can get quite loud. It is a nice looking radio as well. You can use it with the power cord or with 4 x D batteries.I think it would be better if it just took 4 x AA batteries like the Panasonic radio. These are easier to find and lighter. On the other hand, the radio is very light so the D batteries do make it a little more stable during operation. Overall, I think it is a pretty good radio especially for someone who needs a simple easy to operate radio that has good reception and good sound.

Small and Powerful
I can't tell you how happy I am with this purchase. I was trying to decide between this model and a Panasonic; I know the Panasonic brand but had never heard of this model. I decided to go with my choice and am so glad I did. I use this radio outside, and it comes in perfect! My two older radios are filled with static and do not program the stations in well outdoors. Not this little gem, the minute I turned it on my station of choice came roaring through with great volume and clarity. The radio is very small and weighs next to nothing, even with four size D batteries loaded. It is easy to tune, quite durable for its size and you can't beat the value for the cost. Give it a try if you are looking for a great, small but powerful radio for any occasion.

LOOKS & SOUNDS GREAT!
Nice for the price easy to use and very good looking. It really looks nice and reminds me of the radios of the 60's without the weight, not overly large, this was a gift, and they loved it. ;D

It's perfect!
Portable, great speaker, AM & FM and a solid antenna that picks up quite a bit, very pleased.I didn't want a boom box, but something light and portable and worked well.I wanted something that could pick up local news and weather alerts as I do not have a tv, only internet, and I really wanted to hear the great music from this one radio station that I listen to when I drive. So, there she is! Not tiny, not bulky, like a hand high and a hand & half wide & 2 knuckles of a finger thick.Great handle. Use batteries or plug it in. And done.

Easy to use
This is the best radio I have had in a long time!! Easy to carry, easy to install batteries, simple knobs. I have it in a special place that easily accessible if the electricity goes off at night, or if we are having storms. I bought one for my 85 year old aunt, and after reading the reviews, I ordered one for myself. Great price, too!!

Nice radio for the money. Should have had a heavy shipping box!
I live more than 60 miles from the AM broadcast station I listen to. I have a $200.00 C Crane radio that I am comparing this low dollar radio too. The C Crane radio does not receive and play as well as this radio. The signal is weak coming in, and both radios have background fuzz/static but, this radio put side by side with the C Crane does a little better job than the expensive C Crane. The fuzz coming from the C Crane is not tolerable for me to listen to, this radio is such that some fuzz sounds is present, but I can listen to it. The only reason I have three stars instead of five is the radio was shipped in the manufactures box. It should have been in that box and then in an Amazon type more heavy duty shipping box. The box it arrived in is thin and was ripped and tattered and someone taped the top flap down with masking tape. The owners manual was missing. So, minus one star for each of those negative aspects. The radio itself was not damaged, is nice and works really good, especially for the money.
