Beautiful and informative book. I'd recommend it to anybody who even has a vague interest in flags. My only complaint is that it wasn't packaged in a form-fitted cardboard exterior like other Amazon books I've received (which protects books surprisingly well). It was in a really oversized cardboard box with zero protective packing...no bubble wrap, no plastic sleeve, not even any brown paper void fill. And the result of that lazy packing was 2 of the 4 corners were crushed...and I'm not happy about that. Also, it happened to be raining on delivery day, and the box was soaked through in less than 15 minutes. With the lack of any protective packaging materials, another 5 minutes on my rainy porch would have meant certain destruction of the book. I'm guessing this was a third party seller (honestly, I can't remember), because I've never seen Amazon sell/deliver books in this manner. ?

It’s great except for the mystery flags in the cover
This is a publisher with a very twisted agenda. I had a very exciting week because I bought the newest edition of the Encyclopedia of Flags, and there is a flag on the cover that I have never seen before, which just excited me even more. I finally finished reading the encyclopedia cover to cover last night, as one does, and in a move purposely and maliciously designed to drive me absolutely insane, the new flag is NOT IN THE BOOK.Let's be honest, there is a very particular audience of adults who is going to buy a 400-ish page full color hard cover book about flags. And that audience has a need to consume information in a very, very particular way.The publisher has now created an endlessly looping puzzle where the cover of the book has presented autistic people across the globe with the potential of a tantalizing new fact that the book then has absolutely no intention of delivering. And I know it's not in there, because I've now paged through the book five times just today because I remain convinced I've somehow missed it, and I have to know what that f***ng flag is. And I will not turn to the internet, because I bought the book because it knows more about flags than the internet, and yet it has presented me with only more mysteries which I then probably need a second flag book to answer.Other than that it’s great!

Wonderful Book!
I first found this book at our local library and decided it was a keeper and so I purchased a copy. This is a fantastic book about flags. It has a history of flags, flags from all over the world including state flags and much more. My 10 yr old grandson is fascinated with flags and this is a great book for him. I would highly recommend this book.

You can find a picture of every flag and it's origin in this book.
Each country's flag is beautifully displayed in color with historical origins of that flag. Detailed world maps are included as well. The content of the book is informative and thorough. It's a perfect coffee table book; you can thumb throughit quickly or, spend time searching out a storehouse of information.

and this book was a perfect fit. It's very detailed and we've spent literally ...
I ordered this for my 12 year old son who LOVES flags. He designs flags, loves to read about flags, and this book was a perfect fit. It's very detailed and we've spent literally hours quizzing each other on flags. There are also quite a few city, county, novelty, and original country flags, and much much more. I really recommend it.

Gorgeous flag illustrations and very informative
My six year old recently became interested in drawing flags. This book has beautiful pictures for him to attempt to duplicate. We've enjoyed going through the book together and talking about the different flags and the country they come from. Also has nautical and other types of flags as well.
