Excellent for powering/joining long USB cable runs
I bought this hub for a slightly unusual reason. I needed to connect two long USB 2.0 cables (over 8 Metres in total) to go from my PC upstairs to a freeview recorder box downstairs. You definitely need additional power for this long a cable run so I decided to buy a powered ('active') USB hub to join the cables. It has done the job really well. It comes with a PSU so I was up and running straight away. I've never had a dropped connection and performance seems very good. LED indicator lights show activity and status on each port. It's very neat and compact for a hub - it doesn't take up much desk space and looks nice next to my aluminium PC case. It comes with a quite long USB 2.0 cable to connect it to the PC. It was recognised straight away by Windows XP and 2000 without any messing about. It works fine in its more traditional role of connecting multiple USB devices to a single port on my PC. I don't bother using its separate PSU for this task and it works fine without it.All in all, very happy. Even though it's perhaps relatively expensive for a 4 port USB 2.0 hub, I think it's worth it.

Does the job & looks good
Very nice piece of kit.I bought one to replace a cheap ugly thing that looked unnaceptably naff next to my new PC and also didn't work particularly well.OK so its a hub and its hard to get very excited but it seems well built with a bit more substance than some in this price range.Dead easy to set up,so far it has worked very well & its nice looking & compact enough to sit on my desk & look extremely businesslike.Personally I like the compact chunkiness of it plus its great value and it works. What more can you ask of it ?

Good USB hub
I had a need for some additional USB ports to my iMAC I searched around and found the D-Link 4 Port Hub. It works as advertised and also has a great feature. Unlike a lot of other powered hubs, the D-Link can still be used to charge my iPhone and iPod even when the computer is off.

You lose a USB-C port if using pass-through charging, although that doesn't work on my unit anyway!
What an incredibly poor pieve of design, that if you want to use pass-through charging then you lose a USB-C port from your computer! I would think that if it's suppose to support pass-through charging then at least one other USB-C port would be provided as otherwise you've lost one (and on one of the laptops I was planning to use it with, I only have the one USB-C, which I power it through too, and do have USB-C devices I plug in to it so this seems like a major design flaw to me!).My unit doesn't seem to be working with pass-through anyway. I did re-check the description and it includes the words '...and charge your laptop...", but it isn't so at least I get to send it back. And to those wondering, yes the laptop in question does support charging via USB-C (I know not all that have the ports do), and I am typing this on that laptop while it's charging via the USB-C charger that's plugged directly into it.

Functionality good, but runs hot and scratches very easily
I bought this because I had heard of the brand and it features all the ports etc that I needed. It appears to work fine (Disclaimer: I haven't tested the ethernet or HDMI ports yet). The problem is that the silver colour is painted on and scratches with minimal provocation--mine has become heavily scratched after a week from the the USB C plug scratching against the body of the device while in my bag.It also runs very hot and I feel it is running down my computer battery (I have a MacBook Air M2, which normally lasts days)

Fantastic for lots of scenarios
This little USB HUB is absolutely tiny however you can see from the construction of the case and the way it's packaged that it's a higher quality unit. It features 3 standard USB ports and one that is for charging. To use the charging port to its full potential you have to plug it into the wall with the included 5V adapter. The unit shows you whether the HUB is using power from the USB connection or Power through an LED on the top.Good points about this item:- Looks fantastic and the size enables it to be used in multiple scenarios.- The ports all worked and were plug and play on Linux (Debian more specifically) and Windows 8.1- The charging port is quicker than the standard USB port for charging my phone.- The cables provided are of a high quality- Doesn't require power to run the main 3 USB ports.Bad points:- The power adapter is pretty chunky.- The case is a fingerprint and dust magnet.Overall this little USB hub is great and doesn't look god awful (in my opinion) like some of the others available. Would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a HUB and it's verified for the Raspberry Pi as well so it can offer you more USB ports plug and play on that device. 5/5

GREAT PRODUCT
I'm always struggling for extra USB ports, especially on the go, but my previous plastic hub overheated and stopped working. I know the brand D-Link, so I picked this up, and it definitely seems like a more 'premium' unit - metal doesn't seem to get as hot, but its still very light and portable. It also has an adapter to switch between USB-C and A, which I haven't used yet, but definitely useful and a gigabit port for wires - recommended!
