Impressed
The media could not be loaded. Impressed. I read the directions and watched the installation video a few times. Took about 1 hour to install and I’d consider myself handy. I took my time and made sure the install looked good. The included 1” hole saw was fine and worked as expected. I pre-drilled all holes before making them their final size. We’ve had a series of garage break ins the past few months and I felt it was time to do more to secure our garage. The device defaults to locked with or without power.Video is a quick demo of how quickly it unlocks, then re-locks.

Excellent unit, easy to install
I do not have a garage door opener , but I am installing this with a remote system Sure Lock suggested so I can open shop my garage door in the event my electronic lock fails on the one other door I haveInstall was very easy . The unit bolts right to the garage door rail, and they supply the hole saw needed. All you need is a drill and a 1/4 inch bit. They give you everything you need and that’s the only tool knowledge required for this . This is absolutely a do it yourself project and it is as strong as a sliding lock for sure .Also the customer service is absolutely excellent if you have any issues with the Install. Pete answered all my emails quickly and even called me to make sure I understood

This product works and it is seamless with garage door opener.
This is my second purchase. I installed a model-7 six or seven years ago. Recently, a very close lightning strike coincided with something in the system not working. The mechanical override is simple and worked great for my non-tech spouse to get her car out of the garage. After purchasing and installing the new model-8, I found the only issue was the model-7 "controller" that plugs into the outlet. I texted the manufacturer about replacing that controller. A knowledgeable person quickly contacted me by text then phone helping me determine what was needed. I purchased the part so that I could reuse the model-7 system on a new structure we built.I like some the system's features:The new model-8 controller has a blue LED indicator that lights when the is operating during open & close cycles. The vibration detector has a red LED that lights when it detects the door opener is cycling. The lock mechanism itself has a self-evident operation and mechanical override (as mentioned above.) And for self-installers, the kit includes the bit needed to install the lock on the door track. The technical support for this system was fantastic!!

Bring your own tools
I should’ve listened to the other reviews that talked about just how poor quality the drill bit and hole saw is. The drill bit snapped off almost immediately, so I use my own drill bit, and then the hole saw, bent my own drill bit and mangled the door. If you have your own tools, this is a good product

Great way to secure your garage door from thieves prying it open.
This is flimsy and kind of a weird design for a "deadbolt", is made in China, where else, but it does what its supposed to. I had one installed for a couple of years which I bought from Home Depot but my garage door had enough lateral play in the metal rails/tracks that it could jump over the Sure Lock "dead bolt" and open. So I had to by another one for the other side of the garage door. The reason being the deadbolt's design didnt capture the wheels in the track. Actually I ordered two units as break-ins are common and I wanted to install one on each side to prevent the door from jumping around the deadbolt as it had with just one unit installed.4.11.2020 update: I had the pleasure of troubleshooting an issue with my 2 units with Peter, the new owner of the company. He couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful. I really commend him. Very professional and enthusiastic about this product. It turns out that the models being sold in Home Depot had some design errors including the deadbolt not going out far enough. Hence my garage door wheels could skip around the deadbolt. The new version I bought doesn't do that. So I unnecessarily bought two of the new models after my first unit's deadbolt bent beyond being useful.I also made the mistake of using the same transformer/relay for both deadbolts, which isn't correct. You have to use one transformer for each deadbolt. A single transformer cannot handle two deadbolts. So I ended up burning out the transformer/relay.Additionally you must plug the garage door opener motor into the Surelock transformer, which has an integral outlet, for the unit to work properly as it senses current bring used by the motor. The second transformer/relay I had on hand also was buzzing loudly and getting very warm so Peter asked me to check for damaged wires in the white wires that go from the deadbolts to the vibration sensor. I found the damaged wires, repaired them with electrical tape and the buzzing stopped. The company spent hours on a Saturday troubleshooting the issues and I was very pleased.

Very pleased with this product
First of all, the lock is very solid. Second, the installation instructions were easy to follow, the online video even easier. Third, every part was included in the kit, the template worked perfectly, the included 1-inch hole saw cut the hole in the metal door track in all of about 10 seconds, so to those suggesting it wasn't adequate to do the job, ignore them. Wiring was easy. Installation of the sensor and power unit as well. My garage door opener does have a battery backup system, so I used the included cable to connect the locking sensor to the backup battery -- again, easy to do. Following the instructions for activating its initial run is important. I cycled the lock through several cycles, worked perfectly. I had a question for tech support, sent an email, had a response within an hour or so. Nothing to complain about when your questions are answered quickly and accurately. All in all, I'm very pleased with the added security this lock provides. I'd recommend it highly.
