Still ticking
I got this so that I could charge my cell phone which now doubles as my bike computer and music player while I ride. I have an pretty app heavy phone that sucks the power down pretty fast. With my my bike computer app and Pandora running at the same time this will keep the batter: 1. at the same percentage as it started with while keeping the screen constantly on 2. gradually increase the charge with the screen off. I have now put hundreds and hundreds of miles on it with no issues and continued output. Be sure to count your spokes for the correct model

Powerful
Powerful enough to run both my front and rear (Basta) lights (I still take a back-up). You should know however is that the hub works well but robs power from your bike so you may not coast as long, as far, or as fast as you normally do. I guess you should expect a little drag but nothing you can't get use to.

Bike Power!
I bought this hub so I can charge my phone and camera while riding my bicycle. I got it installed at my local bike shop for $25 because they were able to re use my spokes. I think it's about $45 if they cant. I can't feel any change in resistance from my non dynamo hub. I love the benefit of being able to charge my electronics while I ride, I can run applications on my phone and the battery is still full after my ride to work. It can also be used for lighting, but I haven't got that set up yet. This hub is for 32 spoke disc brakes.

It generates great but getting lights for it is expensive and difficult
I bought the hub and was all excited. It looks great. Had my wheel built and looked around for some lights for it.Virtually everything comes from Germany and is fiercely expensive. Most of the front lights available are halogen, not LED, including the lights Shimano sells matching the generator.Eventually found the front light from Planet Bike - LED and good features at a respectable price (5 stars for this light). So, front light was sorted out but I am still stuck on the back one. I will be really disappointed if I have to keep batteries on the rear light.I am going to spend some time messing around with the wires and LEDs and such but I really should have been more careful making sure the lights and accessories were available.
